CAN'T USE PAYPAL WHEN USING YOUR MICROSOFT ACCOUNT!!!

So why cant I use my paypal account to complete a transaction where im using my credit from my Microsoft account that's there and the remainder through paypal, infact why is it I cant I even use a debit card to complete the transaction, why is it so insistent
on you putting a credit card onto the account ( I don't own a credit card, I live in the UK where we use debit cards).

Xbox Downloadable Games Coming to Retail.

I didn't even think about PayPal! That's a really good idea. I had an unauthorized charge recently to my PayPal account and they were AWESOME about reversing it -- and quickly, too.

 

Probably a stupid question

If you are purchasing Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One you have to use a credit card or Paypal. You cannot use a pre-existing balance on your Microsoft account. If you want to use that balance, then you need to purchase it on the Xbox 360 first.

1) I will not get a CC, so that they can charge me a fortune in interest, I don't think so, the standard payment option in the UK is by debit card, weather that paying over the counter or online we use debit cards to make the purchase.

2) most online retailers accept debit cards as a payment option, you just put your details in at the checkout on the online store, that's how it works!!

3) who you calling a kid, I'm 28 years with a valid question, if you don't have anything constructive to say, don't answer the question!!!

 

I use my debit card online just fine for Xbox Live all of the time, so I'm not sure what king is talking about - it works exactly the same way as the credit card, except you have to make sure that the money is already in your account before using it. Then
again, I'm stateside, so I don't know if it'd work differently for someone in the UK.

 

GG it doesn't even give me the option to add my debit card to make a purchase, which is strange in itself because DC's are the standard payment option in the UK, but back to my main point why can't I use my paypal account in conjunction with what money I
have in my Microsoft account to make a purchase?

 

In order to add a card, you have to add the card's number - I simply do this with my DC the same way I do with my CC and as I said before, it works just fine. Unless the card numbers work differently between DCs and CCs in the UK, I fail to see how that's
an issue.

As for Paypal, it's just the way the console is setup between MS and Paypal - it's just not there yet, so give it time. If I recall, Paypal is already on the Xbox 360, but you can't even split payments there either, so it may not come at all. In the meantime,
you could always suggest this over at MS' new Xbox Live feedback site.

 

You can do split payments on the 360 as I have done this before, purchased an appearance pack for mass effect 3 and I only had £1.65 in my Microsoft account it took the remaining £0.34 from my paypal account to make a total of £1.99 that's why im confused
as to why it doesn't work on the one

 

I don't even have the option to choose between credit or debit in any online purchase. It asks for my card number, I put in my debit card number, and complete transaction. And that includes Xbox Live

 

I use a Visa Debit card and live in NZ. Visa Debit is very popular in NZ and Australia. With Debit Cards, it's treated like Credit Cards and accepted anywhere Visa is accepted, and you don't have to pay the high interest % you do with credit cards. You just
use what money you have in your account. Don't worry, Microsoft uses very good online security tools to protect your personal info and the good effort they put into keeping Xbox Live secure. If you access certain pages on xbox.com, if you look on the address
bar it's highlighted green with a padlock when you click on certain links.

 

To summarise, Visa debit cards you can get when your 16, you don't have to have a good credit rating, and don't have to pay what can be high interest rate %'s, and it's treated like a credit card and accepted anywhere Visa is accepted which is pretty much
everywhere and use only money you have in your bank account. With Credit Cards, you have to be 18 to get them, have a good credit rating, pay an interest %, you can use the bank's money, but you probably end up being used. Visa Debit is great. Don't know a
lot about paypal as it's not really a very common payment method in NZ.

 

I'm in the UK and don't have that problem, I have used Paypal and debit cards, when it asks you to add a credit card just add your debit card details, it worked for me.

 

I am in Canada using a VISA debit card. I don't think you can use a regular debit card, but I'm not familiar with how things work in the UK.

 

If you are concerned about interest and don't have a VISA debit card there are many pre-paid CC options available.
