Cant use owned dlc addon

Just brought the Xbox Game pass for PC, installed the Darkest Dungeon game, and got the "musketeer" free dlc.
the thing is, when i install the dlc, the app install it in a standalone new folder as if it was another game, instead of placing the content inside of the folder containing the game itself.

result: i can't play the game with the dlc, because the stupid xbox app install it in the wrong location.

its a simple addon that adds a new hero, and i even tried going many weeks in game to see if the hero would eventually show up but nope, its not even installed.

If you were unable to install the content, it would be a problem with Microsoft/your PC. But once the content is installed and doesn't appear in-game, it's necessary to talk to the developer.

It did not work. i followed every step, even the "if after 24 hours still doesn't work" (???)

also, i dont know what the game developer can do for something that its microsoft's fault for. they can't control or do anything about the way xbox/microsoft chooses to install games and addons on its clients pc's, so i wont even bother doing that.

i have never had so much trouble and headache about buying/installing/using games on any other platform before, and i used ubisoft's,origin,steam and so on.

These steps can help you, give it a try.

Check for updates on Windows Update, update everything including optional/additional updates.

1. Logout from Xbox app and Microsoft Store app

2. Look for the Xbox app and Microsoft Store app in the Windows menu, right-click, click app settings and then click terminate, restore and reset. Do this for the game too.

3. Clear the store cache type ''wsreset'' in the Windows bar, run as admin, and wait for the screen to close and open the store automatically.

4. Open the Microsoft Store app, click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner>downloads updates>get updates and update everything.

5. Restart your PC, log in to both apps and see if that solves the problem.

If after 24 hours you still don't see content within your game, please contact the game developer.

Hello there,

In order to preorder "Rise of the Iron Lord" you need to own the main game and all previous released DLC assigned to the account you want to preorder "Rise of the Iron Lord" with. If your Account is missing any of the previous DLC you cant preorder.

Please check if you have purchsed all already released DLC and you are using the account assigned to the DLC to preorder the Iron Lord addon.

Basically you will own both versions.

It is better to buy addons, dlc, passes etc. separately to the game you own than spending money on higher version and have second copy of the game.
