Can't use new Xbox One for 30 days? Take it back?

Xbox Live changed their process to require email verification AFTER we set up our account. We've had Live Gold for our Xbox 360 using my son's school email, which we determined blocks emails from xbox and required a password change last week for the new
school year. Per customer support, since we had to change the password, we now need to wait 30 DAYS before we can switch to a new email. So after buying Xbox One yesterday, he cannot play download the Titan Fall game for 30 days. Even though they have my
credit card, phone numbers and other email addresses, customer support cannot "unlock" that account. Seriously - do we take it back and buy PlayStation 4?

There are gtags that are reserved although seemingly not in use. If you can't get a certain gtag just use your fantasy and creativity to get one that describes you online and is not already been taken or reserved

 

Xbox One Controller

My Xbox One constantly disconnects all of my controllers and then takes 30 minutes just to re connect. This issue is becoming very frustrating and makes it to where I can't use my system. Any advice?

 

But as I understand your issue, he is able to log into his Xbox 360 with his credentials?

If so, he can use the same credentials to set up his profile on the One. And if that works, he can also get Titanfall to play it there. And if you change the email address in 30 days the games will still be useable, as it is registered to the XBL gamertag
and not the associated email address.

Or am I getting your problem wrong?

 

He can play 360, but when we turn on Xbox One, it wants us to sign on, we put in the user name and password, but then we get the "prove that you are you" screen and it will ONLY allow us to set it up if we can click on the link in the email that we cannot
get.

 

We have a basic account (not "Gold") as well that they offered 30 day free trial. So in theory, we could set up the One there and play for the next 30 days, but couldn't download Titan Fall or it would be stuck in that account instead of in his. I'm wary
of doing that as not sure what will really happen in 30 days. Supposedly with One, the Gamertag can be used on Friends systems, so maybe it would work.

 

Ah ok. Never have faced that specific problem yet.

If you set up a trial account and don't remove it after the trial period, a second account (the real one) will also be able to play Titanfall on that One. But as I said only as long as you keep the then unused account on that console, too.

If the email address needs verification you can change the MSAC (mircosoft account) to a different one.

1) so lets say you use *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** and you need to verify it on xbox one

2) you have to have a another email to replace it with, it cannot have a microsoft account linked to it. so it cannot be a @hotmail @live @outlook nor it cannot be like @gmail @yahoo thats registered as a microsoft account.

3) on PC/laptop (tablets, phones etc wont work) go to
http://verifyme.microsoft.com

4) on the webpage it should say like "to request a code please sign in" so you sign in with your current msac

5) then it will say something that "your email needs to be verified, resend a code or use a different email"

6) click on use a different one, then it will go through changing the msac on the GT. You can either choose "create new (will create you a new @hotmail @live @outlook email and it will replace the school email) OR use a existing one where you can add your
@gmail @yahoo @whatever and it will link it with the GT.

7) after that you should be able to sign into the xbox one after you verified the new email =)

NB! Make sure you add proofs aswell to the account (alternative email and alternative phone) there should be atleast 2 proofs

I'm now in the same boat, it asked me yesterday to verify my account when I logged into Hotmail/outlook, but the mobile number it had registered was an old one that had been deactivated. I managed to get onto my e-mail account. I then went to account settings
and found the bit where i could update my mobile number. I changed it to my current number and then they sent me a text with a four digit pin to verify on Hotmail/outlook that this was me. I used the pin and it said it had been verified. then this morning
when I turned on my xbox one it told me to verify my account with a 8 digit pin that could only be sent to the old number that I had registered which was now disconnected. this is when I found out that I had to wait 30 days! for my new number to be linked
to the account. I cannot even cancel this process now as it asks for the old mobile number again to have a verification pin sent to it, WTF! MICROSOFT, I hope you are going to give me at least a one month subscription for my loss in playing time and I will
be missing out on game events for battlefield and destiny.
