  1. Can't use my USB device - write protected (lost game saves?)

    Hello,

I've bought pendrive just to save game progress and profiles on this. I was studying in town X (I was playing here a lot with my friends; pendrive had 4 games saved and 2 profiles). Then, as here are holidays, I took xbox360 to home. And here is my problem:

I cannot run any of my profiles and I can't run any of games, saves etc. When I go to settings System-->Storage here's an message that it is write-protected (?). When I connect that pendrive to my laptop I can't do anything here, as well - just because it
is write-protected! I can't copy, delete etc. Windows8 repair tool didn't repair that pendrive. I've found that here is program called HORIZON - but it doesn't see my pendrive :/ I also tried to change registry of that pendrive, changed writeprotect to 0 -
didn't work. Next I tried creating .bat file which should remove that protection - and no, it didn't.

Are here any ways to repair my pendrive WITHOUT losing my profiles and game saves? Is it possible to remove write-protection or can I copy/backup my game saves? Or all I can do is just to format pendrive or buy a new one?

    Thanks for replies.

    :)

Hey, Merciless! Sorry about your flash drive troubles. It looks like you have done everything you can (and them some!) to try to make sure you save your information.

While I can't think of anything else to make sure you information is rescued, I do suggest

    formatting the flash drive
as officially suggested. It will make you lose your data (as I can see you already know). If it won't let you due to it telling you that it is "write-protected", please format it on a Windows computer to FAT32. That will prevent
you from having to spend money on more flash drives. Unless it doesn't let you format on your computer, either.

I also suggest that you buy a different brand if you are forced to buy one because it won't let you format or future saves do not work on it.

Please post back what fixed it for you or if you have the same problem with another flash drive!
