    Can't use Microsoft Account Funds


    I have $30.00 in my Microsoft Account from 3 $10.00 gift cards.

    It won't let me purchase the 3-month subscription for $24.99.

    I don't know whats going on.

    Microsoft currency can't buy 360 games

    I've been trying to purchase a few Xbox 360 games from the Xbox store and it only allows credit card options despite having the Microsoft Xbox funds logged onto the account. What is the reasoning as to why I can't use Microsoft
    funds to purchase Xbox 360 games, but I can purchase Xbox one titles.

    It's not possible to purchase gold with currency in your account. Gold can only be purchased via credit card/Paypal or by purchasing a prepaid gold card in a store.

    yeah that currency is only for purchasing games and game add on content, and anything else in the marketplace what Smwutches said is true, you can only buy Live with the cards or directly from the dashboard using a credit card or paypal not the currency

    Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for clarity concerning transfer of Microsoft account funds between accounts. Unfortunately, Microsoft account funds can't be transferred between accounts. In this instance, if your kids wanted something
    using those funds, theonly thing you might be able to do is use those funds to gift their accounts.

    It's true. You can't use funds from a gift card (which is what the Microsoft account balance is) to purchase a gift card.

    360 content can't be gifted and funds can't be transferred between accounts. You could get them an Xbox gift card to pay for it, but you wouldn't be able to use the funds from your account for that.

    The money can be used for 360 content, but the website and One stores are set up differently than the 360 store and do not recognize those funds as a valid payment method for 360 content.
