    Can't use Local Xbox 360 profile


    I have a Xbox 360 profile that I created a long time ago, and I did not attach a microsoft account to it. This profile has characters and achievements tied to it. Recently, I logged in under that profile and find that now I have to sign-in to microsoft
    in order to do anything. But when I put my microsoft credentials in, I get an error message saying it cannot sign into my account. Then, I tried to log onto xbox.com with my microsoft credientials and that just created a new profile/gamertag.

    Is there any way for me to attach my local Xbox 360 profile to my Microsoft account now? Or would it be possible to create a new microsoft ID and attach that to my local profile? I just want to play with my local profile.

    I fixed it.

    Go to Xbox.com and find your security settings for your profile, then find "Xbox 360 Profile Protection" and set it to require the profile to redownload the profile every time you sign in (this will also sign you off of all 360 consoles you were previously signed into).

    Since my 360 had been set up to automatically sign in, I'm thinking the Xbox One thought I was still signed in on my 360, and obviously you can't be signed in on multiple Xbox's on the same profile at the same time, so it flagged an error.

    At least that's my guess. I also cleared my Xbox 360 local data and did a console restart.

    Just follow those steps and it should hopefully be fixed.

    if it apply to my xbox live with my xbox live 3month coupon.. it will be ok or still not be available to xbox live gold.

    becuz now i lost the right. with xbox live gold.

    You could change the microsoft account associated with the tag you're posting with.

    support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account

    Or, if you like, you can create a new email address then sign in to your local gamertag (if it will not allow you to do so then disconnect from Live and sign in then reconnect to Live) and select Join Live from your dashboard.

    Is your son's account on the console a local profile, or is it a LIVE-enabled profile, like a Free or Gold account? If it is LIVE, download your son's profile to the console. Go to Social>Sign In or Out>Download Profile.



    What Son ALA said above is also correct. Achievements can't be earned on trial versions of games. If you son is on a local profile, and he's playing games that you have downloaded to a different Xbox 360 first, they are trials that he's playing.



    Something to try, take a USB flash drive, configure it for use with the Xbox 360,

    move his profile     to it, then take the USB drive to your console, and have him try to play the games there to see if there is a different result.

    No, you can't merge a local profile with an already existing Xbox Live account, it is only possible to 'upgrade' that local profile to a new Xbox Live account. If you want to do that see the steps on this link:

    Let´s first try clearinh the 360 cache

    Press the Xbox button  on your controller to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Storage.

    On the Manage storage devices screen, select:

    Clear local Xbox 360 storage. This deletes Xbox 360 games saved locally, but they’ll remain in the cloud.

    After that redownload your profile on the 360 emulator and try again

    On the website marketplace, yes. For some reason you still can't use your local currency to buy stuff there. For that you'll need to use your Xbox 360.
