Can't use Gears of war 1 code because it told me to change my language region.

yeah i bought gears of war 4 3 days back and it includes previous gears as well. I face the same issue when going to download. Gears 1 and 3 both. Idk what to do. I played gesrs 2 so no point in downloading that. Any help for that is appreciated

im in the same situation. called x box they told me to come to forums and explain my situation. I have been trsnsfered from like three different forums already and getting annoyed .i m in canada and it has to do with language settings. not sure why they
cant just simply send me a new code for gears 3.

Because the codes are universal

The issue isn't nothing to do with the codes

For gears of war games your account region actual region and language settings must be the same

So if you are in Quebec you need to make sure you match the language accordingly

And yes there is games that check for your language

I don't request this code from Microsoft, MS automatically sent me that code but I don't understand Why Microsoft sent me a code that I can never redeem, as I mentioned before, using my console I redeem the code for gears 2 and gears judgment (all of this
after changing the region of my account to US) but to my surprise ..... It is not enabling me redeem the code for the gears 1 and 3 because it's region locked (that's the answer received in this forum). I took the trouble to engage Microsoft support people
and they told me that this is a known issue for gears 1 and 3, that I should open a post in this forum and wait to be contacted by the Promotions team from Microsoft.

I think it's an insult to my intelligence that I be sent codes that I cant redeem because I'm in a different region. Why doesn't Microsoft sent these codes within the proper regions and not creating false expectations "the codes were sent to me before I
changed my region to US", the main reason why I won't to redeem the code is because I have the hard copy which is damaged and that's why I would want the digital version of gears 3. I'm a big fan of the gears of war saga and the only reason I had to buy an
xbox one was the announcement of gears of war 4.

When Microsoft communicate the compatibility matrix between xbox 360 and xbox one (that contains the previous 4 versions of gears) I thought I could have all the gears in digital version but it turns out that you can not.

The truth all this seems a bad joke to the players that we come from the first xbox and we go to xbox 360, where we fell in love with the game and by a lack of communication on the part of microsoft we can not have what we want even if it's paying. To be
honest, I will finish playing this year and migrate to another console to avoid this.

not sure if this helps but I had the issue of codes for 1&3 not working, saying I needed to "change language region". After contacting support they told me to change the region on my console to Spain, as its where i live..didnt work so i changed back. Then
i went to xbox.com and found somewhere in account settings "360 account region" I changed this to Spain (console still on UK region) and the redeem codes suddenly worked.

You gotta be careful with thosr

One prepaid codes are region locked

Meaning they can only be purchased in the same region

Also if it isnt an english code that would be why

You have to match it with your region so if its french then you MUST select french

If its spanish code then you are out of luck since canadian codes dont support spanish

With gears of war 3 the console.language MUST match your region and your codes language

Also should be noted this applies to some games like blackops 1-2 and gears 3

However gears 1 and 3 and various other games are region locked
