    Can’t use credit from Microsoft store on the xbox


    I purchased a $15 Xbox gift card for my son and followed the instructions on the back of the card to redeem it online, through the website, not on the Xbox. Now when he tries to use it it doesn’t show the credit. How can I get this $ onto his Xbox live account
    as a payment option.

    I purchased an Xbox One S from the MS Store online on 11/24. I should be eligible for the Microsoft Store Xbox One S Offer (50,000 Rewards Credits). It does not appear that I have received these. The Microsoft Account I use to shop at Microsoft Store (which
    was created automatically when I made my first purchase in 2012) is different from the account associated with my Xbox Live account, but I don't see the credit on either account. Please address this. Thanks.

    Your xbox live credit can only be used to buy items from the xbox live marketplace.

    The Microsoft store is seperate from that which is why you can't use your credit to buy things from there.

    As long as you were signed into his account when you redeemed the card, then it's already attached to his account. Depending on what you're trying to purchase, the Microsoft account balance may not show as an option.

    The website has not been updated to work with the new currency system. You have to use the console in order to use the money in your account.

    You can't use your Microsoft credit to purchase live. You either need to have a credit card on file or purchase an xbox live card from a retail store.
