Cant use credit card to pay for gamertag change

Im trying to change my gamertag through the xbox app in windows, i dont own an xbox. Says ive used my first free change which i dont remember doing, regardless i'll cop the $10 charge and pay for it. However i cant. Im in Australia and my saved credit card
doesnt come up as a payment option, no problems until i click the +add credit card option in the change gamertag window,and I cant select a country. No matter what i try including known states in america and postal codes it declines. How can i get this sorted
plz.

Cant Change Gamertag

Hi,

Are you trying to use your Microsoft Account balance? If so, that would be why.

Currently, you can only use a payment method (credit/debit card) to pay for a gamertag change on Xbox LIVE.

Well face it nobody is going to change your gamertag at all. How hard is it to simply add your credit card information to your account and pay for a new gamertag...

you have to redeem the points for a gift card first. It will be credited directly to your account. Afterwards you can pay the gamertag change with it.

Before you pay make sure that the new gamertag is written right and has no suffix like #1234 at the end (if you don't want a suffix). A suffix means that somebody else is already using this gamertag.

A change can't be reversed or refunded !

Sorry to hear about that. If you could not use your Microsoft balance, please instead try to use a debit/credit card to pay for gamertag change. You could still use your Microsoft balance to purchase games or in-game stuff or pay for your subscription.
