    My son has an Xbox one S and it's been working fine but yesterday he bought a credit voucher,his money has gone into his live account but everytime he tries to purchase a game it only gives the option of paying on my card or PayPal account.

    Can anyone shed light on what's going on?

    Why can't i use my account money to pay for a new subscription? Is it required to pay with a credit card or pre-paid gold membership card?

    Microsoft account to xbox live

    You can't use money in your Microsoft account to pay for live.

    You need to use a credit/debit card,paypal or a xbox live subscription card.

    Agreed, as the other poster said. You can't pay with an account balance because you could have had this credit deposited into your account through several methods, such as Rewards points being cashed in for XBL credit. You must pay for subscriptions with
    your own money, not through methods like getting a deposit from the Rewards program, just for an example, so this is why you can't use account credit to pay for it. It must be done with a credit or debit card.

    Post 1) Friend gave me US account, and I can't purchase MSP on it with UK Credit Card.

    Why are you doing this? Paying someone.



    Post 4) My firend gave me the US account. My account is suspsended becuase I owe money.

    Then just pay your account, since you were paying for MSP anyway.



    Post 5) I am not using a credit card.

    If you don't have a credit card, then how did you have an issue with your UK credit card?



    Post 6) I am trying to give MSP to my firend from my account? Of course I can't use pre-paid cards.

    I said you were putting MSP on the US account to pay your US firend. If you are not using pre-paid cards, THEN YOU MUST BE USING A CREIT CARD!

    Xbox Live Gold Payment options

    To use that offer you need valid method of payment linked to your account (like credit card or pay pal). You can't use your account's credit to purchase xbox live membership through the xbox online store.
