Discus and support Can't upload gamebar screen captures with ":" (colon) in title of game in XBoX on Windows to solve the problem; As we all know, Microsoft does not allow for the use of ":" (colons) in the naming convention of files.     Can't upload gamebar screen captures with ":" (colon) in title of game


    As we all know, Microsoft does not allow for the use of ":" (colons) in the naming convention of files. However, some games have them in their titles and this will prevent you from uploading your gamebar screen captures via console companion so you can share
    them with friends or clubs. Windows replaces these characters with an "_" and console companion does not recognize the game, and fails to upload the capture.

    Just trying to get this issue out there as much as possible so they fix it.

    XBox is not Recording my screen

    Screen capture is different from video recording

    With screen capture you don't need fps

    In game capture even 1 lost frame can be 10-30secs if lost video or audio this requires encoding by your gpu

    If your screen capture is so good try yours and see what happens it's not the same as game capture like gamebar

    xbox game bar captured video doesn't show application's icon

    Use OBS to record and set as display capture, gamebar will only capture application window and it ignores a lot of overlays, CAD apparently loves to draw elements onto overlay which some screen recorders ignore or cannot record. OBS will capture most but will also miss some.

    which xbox app? i know there's a new app but i can't find the option to upload captures to xbox live using it, the one that is for game pass, i can only upload captures using the xbox console companion but as i said there are a few games that i can't upload

    any captures will be in the captures folder under video, you don't need to look for them in the gamebar
