Can't update Privacy and Online Safety Settings - Unexpected Error

Hi, I'm unable to change a specific pricacy like being able to stream.



I am in a microsoft family but the age is set on adult with 21+ no restrictions so theres no way that it shouldnt work.

When I try to update my Privacy and Online Safety Settings at

Sign in to your Microsoft account

I get "An unexpected error occurred. Please try again later."

This has been the case for a couple of months now

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Twith or mixer on xbox and it says my settings do not let me even though everytihng is lublic except for the stream setting. When it comes to change the stream setting, it says there was an error and i cannot change it.

So from what I can get from the post is that you've tried changing the settings from Xbox.com. Have you tried straight from the Xbox, or by any chance have the Xbox app on your mobile device so you can try from there as well?

Sometimes, when accounts are in family settings, the account in question may of the maturity level to be considered an adult but the account may still be listed as a child account under an adult account. If the account is 18 years of age then you can remove
yourself from the family settings, and make your account a standalone account. There may be an issue preventing you from changing the settings, because it may want the adult account to change the settings, as that's how it normally goes as child accounts are
not allowed to change settings without the permission of the adult account.

I suggest you look over this
article for further resources about online and privacy settings.

Also, take a look at your
Family Settings for your account. You may need to sign into the adult account to make changes to your account, unless your account is of age at least 18 years.
