    Hi,

    My nephew has had an old Xbox for a while but it has never been connected to the internet. He is now old enough to have his own xbox live profile, but whenever i try to update the console i get the following error.

    "Cant Cant download the update"

    Status Code:

    43C5-0000-0080-0300-8007-0570

    The internet connection is fine whenever i test it.

    Is there a problem with the old Xbox 360 S that can just never be updated? Or is it a storage issue and if so could it be resolved by adding a usb storage device?

    Xbox 360 update purposely will not update?

    If you have an Xbox 360 with a 4GB Memory unit, what usually happens is that 4GB MU Fails losing the system update. And it tries to download the update but can't because the MU does not work any longer.

    There hasn't been an update for the 360 in quite some time and its not an update that was pushed out to kill your Xbox. The 360 console with the 4GB MU will just fail after a period of time.

    Just to update anyone else with this issue or who just wants to know in general. I have purchased a used official 250GB Xbox 360 HDD for my Xbox 360 Slim on Ebay for $25. I still have the 4GB memory removed from my Xbox that was causing issues before due to corruption, and installing the HDD allows for me to install all updates! So if anyone's 4GB Xbox 360 S has a removable memory chip like mine, and also has an official Xbox HDD, I would suggest removing the built in 4GB memory and try to install any system updates to your HDD instead.

    Adding to the 4GB console advertised as an HDD: This is 100% false. I purchased my 4GB Xbox 360 S in 2012. It said "4GB" on the box. Nowhere did it list a hard drive or state the 4GB was an HDD.
