Can't update my minecraft, now have limited functionality

I tried updating my minecraft to the most recent version, I clicked on minecraft, it told me I had to update so I presses it. It starts the update but now won't install any more of it, so I restart my xbox, still won't work, I shut down and turn back on, doesn't work, I unplug the power and plug it back in, doesn't work. I tried switching/disconnecting reconnecting internet. nothing works, I can't cancel the update, or install anything over it, the best I can get to do is say ready to start.

This can be a bit odd, but did you tried changing temporarily your console region to see if that helps?

For this go to settings > system > language & location.
Once there select temporarily English US - United States or United Kingdom

Once the console restarts, check if maybe the download finally starts.

If that doesn't work revert these changes and try this:

go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings

Once you’re inside the Advanced Settings menu, go to DNS settings and select Manual from the list of available options.
When you get to the next screen, enter 8.8.8.8 in the box associated with the Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 in the Secondary DNS box.

Once the default DNS addresses have been changed, restart your console and see if the issue has been resolved at the next console startup.

If that doesn't work use 1.1.1.1 as primary and 1.0.0.1 as secondary

I'm having the same issue. I was just playing minecraft today. I saw the update and it wouldn't let me update so I uninstalled minecraft to see if it would install the update when I reinstalled the game and now can't download minecraft at all.

I personally can't wait for games to push the limits..right now i wanna see an xbox minecraft with server possibilities and closer resemblance to the PC game...

"Due to network limitations, you can't join party chat right now". All of us have the update. All of us could chat before the update. None of us can chat now no matter the combination of people.

There was an update released today. FH4 limits online functionality if you haven't installed the update from my own experience. Clearing DNS cache's, like mentioned above, often works too if it's a connection issue.
