cant update my internet explorer on xbox

I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling it, restarting console, clearing out system cache, tried multiple different versions of app download and they all say Xbox won't download to local storage but the app is on the same storage device.

Xbox one yify.tv website not working in internet explorer app

Hi has anyone tried yify.tv website on internet explorer app on xbox one. As before the new ms update came onto xbox one it was working fine all videos where playing perfectly and now after the update has been done. I goto the website on my internet browser app on the xbox one. The play button is not there on the videos I don't know if its the update that has removed this. Or yify.tv website has removed it or something. Because it use to work fine before after the update the website doesn't show play button so I cant watch any videos on my xbox one. please can someone try and let me know will be really help ful. the website is yify.tv on the internet explorer app on xbox one. thanks

Are you trying to update Internet explorer or Edge? Typically you don't perform updates on the browsers aside from if you check for updates games & apps updates, and there's one available. Others are included with updates to the console.

 

When I get a certain sites, even Microsoft support page it says my browser needs updating to use this page then it offers me different versions of the update but then says Xbox won't allow me to download it to a local storage, which is the same one the
app is on.

 

The error message is only valid for actual PC's, and the download links are for PC systems.

You can only install games and apps through the actual Xbox marketplace.

There is no way to download anything through the Xbox internet browser, and the installation packages you download through that message are for PC only, and will not work on Xbox.

You can usually safely ignore that message about "outdated" browsers on the Xbox console.

 

Well the other reason is it takes up half of my screen when it shows it and I can't get rid of it but I think I will just quit trying to fix it, thanks for the input.

 

Can you tell us which page is giving you that error message?

Maybe the page is erroneously detecting the browser as being outdated, and falsely displays that message. Maybe contacting the site administrator might help, so they can fix their browser detection accordingly.

To my knowledge you don't do manual updates to IE on the Xbox, those updates are rolled out bundled into the console updates. Hope this helps!

 

Whenever I get into my battle log for battle field 4 checking on my platoon members, Xbox 360 game if you were wondering, anyway Microsoft support says basically the same thing but at least I can get into my battle log it's just half a screen and the other
half is a other half is the message telling me I need to update my browser etc.

 

I know that but it takes up half of my screen telling me I need to update my browser with 3 choices and none of them will download because Xbox says you can't download to a local hard drive, but the app is on the same hard drive, explain that one to me

As Arminator explained them are for PC. Remember all websites act the same on a Xbox, PC, or tablet accessing them. Only difference on a PC and some tablets you are able to update individual items such as Internet explorer. On the Xbox you aren't able to.
IE or Edge as its called now is a built in browser for the Xbox. It gets updated with most system updates.

The site you are using for the logs is probably an old site due to it for a 360 game. As recommended I would simply ignore the update or try accessing the site from a phone or PC.

Okay I see your reasoning but Microsoft support page won't even let me on it without it so the old game theory I think is out the window LOL, but anyway I think I am going to give up trying to fix it because I have gotten absolutely no where so, thanks
