Can't Update My Controller!

Hi, I have just bought the Xbox One Headset Adapter and the notification for updating my controller pops up. It says I have to plug in my headset via the adapter and also plug in my controller to my Xbox via a USB. I do both of these things and press continue
but it states that no controllers are connected using the USB, therefore I can't update my controller. Has anyone had this problem and if so do you know how to fix it?

Can't update my new wired controller

It dosen't help... in french it's write : "Mise jour de la manette en cours...". Not sure in english but it could be: Updating controller in progress... The problem is that it stay at 0% for hours... Need help on that please.

Power down console pressing power button 5 seconds leave for 10 seconds power back up

Plug adapter into controller plug headset in

Plug usb cable in press update controller

If this fails try another usb cable

As the adapter ever been updated since you got it if not plug adapter in to controller

I've spoken to someone at customer support and apparently it's either my controller or adapter that's faulty.

Hey there Trent!

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue.

Since you have already tried the steps on
Troubleshoot Update issues with your Xbox One controller, I would then next try what we call a soft reset of your console.
It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

Also make sure that you select the option denoted
reset and keep my games and apps.

Follow the steps here on How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One
and let us know how that helps with the issue
