    Hello. I had a local account on my xbox 360. I already had an existing Hotmail account and xbox profile but these were never linked together. I was not able to associate my local profile to my desired hotmail account. However I was able to associate my local
    profile to a newly created email address (which I do not want to use). I also followed the steps provided with the creation of a 3rd account to move my gamertag to the desired email but was unsuccessful (the system still wont allow me to do it). Please help.
    My profile on my xbox has all my saves and all I want is to associate this local profile to the correct email address. Thanks!

    How to transfer gamertag to new email

    I have a hotmail email and now have an outlook email and want to switch my gamertag to the outlook account. However, when I try to do that it says that my outlook account already has a gamertag. I thought that was weird because I had never added anything.
    Come to find out my outlook account does have some randomly assigned gamertag attached to it that I never made. Because of this I can't have my gamertag attached to outlook. What do I do?

    HELP cannot connect to my account anymore

    Hotmail is being updated/phased out to Outlook. I can't say for sure, but this may be part of the problem.

    Manually opt to update your email to Outlook before a forced update, and maybe that will clear the issue.

    We do have different options to set an email address the Primary email account linked to your Xbox profile however, there are certain grounds that we also need to consider.

    -Existing account has no Xbox Live profile ( If moving the gamertag using an Xbox 360 )

    support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account-on-xbox-360

    -The email account doesn't have an active Microsoft Account.

    -Not an email account's domain is not affiliated with Microsoft (eg Hotmail, MSN, Outlook)

    support.xbox.com/.../change-email-sign-in-for-microsoft-account

    These reasons are just a few.

    How to combine xbox/microsoft account information

    One email (the xbox account) is an icloud and the other (my laptop) is an outlook email. I tried changing alliases but it said that email was already in use (the outlook email), so I'm not sure if it's a "can't do anything about it" thing or not.

    Hotmail and Outlook would be the same address. Hotmail transitioned to Outlook quite awhile ago and his email address would have been transitioned to Outlook. But the way you're putting it makes it sound like he created a second GT using the same email
    address. Because the Hotmail email address is the Outlook account. Is that correct? Has your friend contacted support at all?
