Can't 'turn on' xbox one via app in Windows 10

When attempting to 'turn on' the XBOX One from the app I get the following message:

"We can't turn on your console. Make sure this device is on the same network as your console and your console is set to instant-on."

I've used this feature in the past and it has worked, and I have successfully streamed/played games on my XBOX One through the app. I have both the beta and the current app installed, and both provide the same message. If I go and manually turn on the XBOX One
it will connect, and I can stream games from the app. I have also verified the 'instant-on' setting is enabled on my XBOX One.

Beta App: 24.24.9006.00000

App: 24.25.26002.00000

Cant join clubs or make them on pc.

Changing gamer tag

You can't change a gamertag into a previously owned one but you could sign in to the Windows 10 Xbox app with the old one though.

1. Are you trying to use SmartGlass to turn on the Xbox console from your computer?

2. Is your console and your computer connected to the same network?

1. I wasn't certain so I checked version information online and SmartGlass is at Version 2.0 where the App is 24.X. So, I am running the App not SmartGlass. I've also just updated the App, and still maintain the issue.

2. Yes, the console and computer are on the same network.

 

Thank you for your reply, you can only manually set instant-on from you Xbox console. One way of connecting your PC to your console is by going to use game streaming in the Xbox app.

I'm quite confused by your response. It's as if you aren't reading what I'd provided or maybe not understanding at all.

I am using the XBOX App on my PC. In the past while using the App on my PC I would select the 'connect to xbox' option, and there's an option to 'Turn on' the XBOX. This used to work, and now doesn't. I have to go to my xbox and turn it on, and then the
App see's the xbox is on and I can begin streaming.

So, my issue is that the 'turn on xbox' option in the XBOX App for the PC doesn't work.

When the 'turn on xbox' option in the xbox app for the PC doesn't work I get the following error:

"We can't turn on your console. Make sure this device is on the same network as your console and your console is set to instant-on."

Because the error stated that I needed to set the console to instant-on I made sure to check and configure my console as such. To be clear: instant-on option on the XBOX Console is 'ENABLED'

Now the error also states that I need to check that the console is on the same network. It is! The XBOX Console and my PC are hard wired to the same network switch.

Just following up on this as I was able to find the root cause of my issue. I had a Linksys hub (WRT SE4008) in my office so I could connect multiple devices to my network. When I removed the hub the issue was resolved and I am able to power the xbox on
via the app.
