    Can't turn on Xbox One remotely


    I'm having an issue where Windows 10 can't turn on my Xbox remotely.. either through the Xbox, Xbox Beta, or Smartglass apps.

    The Xbox is set to instant on and set up for streaming and smart glass. The xbox is wired to the my router, pc is wireless.

    If I manually turn the Xbox on , the pc connects with no problem and streaming works well.

    One thing I've noticed is that when I turn on my xbox it seems to not have an internet connection for a few moments.. it says "connect to xbox live" but it takes 5-10 seconds before accounts are listed in the side panel(maybe it's losing connection?). I
    also don't think the past few system updates have ran with the system off. Not sure if these things are normal but thought it was worth mentioning.

    Things I've tried:

    Verified that all Xbox related services on PC are running.. they are.

    Fully Rebooted Xbox

    Fully rebooted pc

    Changed Xbox to full shut down power mode > reboot > change back to instant on > reboot

    Checked for updates to Xbox apps and console - all up to date

    Checked windows firewall to make sure xbox/xbox services were not blocked - they aren't

    Anyone have any other ideas? Much thanks in advance.

    Can the Xbox One do this? Please say yes!

    I fail to see the advantage in this? The Xbox one downloads its updates in the background, as-well as games, so why would you need to turn it on remotely.

    xbox game streaming after 11 pm

    I have issues getting it to stream too. Sometimes my PC can turn the Xbox on remotely, sometimes it can't. A bit frustrating.

    Harmony Remote support with Xbox One?

    If you are using an RF remote, on the remote manually go to "Settings: Devices: Hub Assignment" and try setting Xbox One to "Remote Only". That immediately fixed the soft buttons for me, but then the power wouldn't work until going through a few power cycles
    on the remote, including turning everything off when in the "Help (not everything turned on)" setup.

    Make sure both your app and console are up to date. In the Store in Windows, click your user picture, then Downloads and Updates, and Check for Updates to make sure your app is updated, and on your console, go to Settings, System, Console info & updates.
    If they are, in the app on the Connect tab, click More by your console name, then Forget console, and add it back.
