Can't turn off closed captions

Using NHL Gamecenter Live app. Just started having closed captions always on during the games. There is no option in the app to shut them off, and I don't have the option to shut them off from my Xbox 360 settings either - there is no closed caption option.
I've looked countless times. Contacted NHL Gamecenter Live support and they said it wasn't an app issue and either way did not have a fix for me other than what I tried above already.

Has anyone found a way around this?

Captions keep coming on

The closed captions keep returning with each console power cycle. I go to my ESPN app, captions are on. I exit and turn off captions at the console settings. Return to ESPN and they are gone. Turn the Xbox back on, and captions have returned. How can I get
my preference for no closed captions to stick?

 

Been talking with an Xbox support person for over an hour with no fix.

 

I have the same problem from the horrible March 29. I sent an email to the NHL, but they told me to use the option to turn off the subtitles, but this option is not present in the console xbox Italian. I called the microsof and do not know how to fix it.

Happening to me too. Driving me crazy. I logged to my account on a friends console and was fine, no subtitles. Doesn't make any sense.

 

same here, cleared cache as a possible option...nope. the only thing giving me comfort is that there are other people like me, i was going crazy looking for the option in game center and then not finding it in my console either....

 

Okay I think I found a fix. Go into the Youtube App in Xbox 360 and find a video with closed captions. I just searched "closed caption" and chose the first video. Closed captions automatically came on, so I pressed "A" and went to "CC" on the option bar
and clicked to turn captions off.

Went into Gamecenter Live and the captions were gone!

 

I have the CC problem solved for me (at least for now).

press the xbox button/ scroll right to settings/ system settings/ console settings/ language and locale/ locale/ change to usa (you will be signed out of xbox live but don't worry)/ back out to console settings/ display/ closed captioning (it appears at
the bottom in usa mode)/ turn all captions to off/ back out to console settings/ language and locale/ locale/ set back to Ireland or wherever you are experiencing this problem/ exit out to the main menu/ press the xbox button/ select connect to xbox live and
presto, captions are off. i hope this works for everyone as it is working for me here tonight.

 

la mia soluzione è questa. Create un profilo degli stati uniti. Bisogna creare una mail americana. Sul web si possono trovare i modi per creare un profilo USA. log in con il profilo americano nella xbox poi disabilitate i sottotitoli nella sezione: Setting
console - display - closed caption. Poi entrate nel nhl gamecenter con il vostro profilo originale ed i sottotitoli sono spariti!

 

my solution is this. Create a profile of the united states. You need to create an e-mail American. On the web you can find ways to create a profile USA. log in with the American profile in the xbox then disable the subtitles in the section: Setting console
- display - closed caption. Then enter the NHL GameCenter with your original profile and the subtitles are gone!

 

We'll done SmoSizzle. I was about to try the old 'throw your Xbox out if the window' remedy. Cheers. Just to confirm for anyone that missed the advice from Smo. Change locale to US, go to display settings, turn of CC, then change locale back to wherever
you are. Worked a treat.

 

I tried StativeBeatle65's solution and it worked for me!

Open the YouTube app.. Open a video [the YouTube trends video worked for me].. Press A to bring up the video controls... On the far right of that menu, select the CC button. Select Turn Off Closed Captioning. Exit the app. You're done!

This helped me turn off Closed Captioning in NHL Gamecenter on an Australian Xbox.
