    Hello

    I've recently bought a Xbox One. I frequently capture screenshots on my PS4 so this feature is important to me.

    When I double tap Xbox button in-game, nothing appears on the snap menu to take screenshots. (Supposedly, there must be a "Press Y to take a screenshot", but nothing is shown except snap app icon and game icon and even when I do press Y nothing happens expectedly)

    I'm not using kinect and my dashboard is updated.

    Can't take screenshots

    I haven't been able to take any screenshots for a few weeks now. When i double tap the home button the option to take one by pressing Y isn't there. I never had any problems before. It just disappeared randomly out of nowhere.

    Screenshots and recording

    I have been playing Xbox one for a few years now and for some reason ever since the cortana update, I cant record take screenshots or even broadcast. I checked my game DVR settings and they're all good. I hard reset my console, didn't work, I asked cortana
    to take a screenshot and she will say I can't take a screenshot now. Any help?

    Unplug Xbox one at wall outlet or surge protector. Wait 30 seconds plug back in power up Xbox. Go to settings and goto privacy and online safety on left side. Select custom go over until you see share game clips and screenshots and allow if not on. Also
    it's worth mentioning you cannot screenshot on dashboard you have to be in game then you simply double tap glowing x on controller and then press y. If it worked it should pop up a notification.

    Let's start off by having you remove your Xbox Live profile from your Xbox One, power down your console completely, and then add your profile back. Let us know how it goes :)

    I have the same problem as GameRitter246 and I did check my preferences and it is enabled so there must be another reason why it's not working

    can't you just take a screenshot and it would show that you have taken one in the bottom right and double click that and it would just take you straight to it?
