Can't sync cloud saves of gamespass titles

I have a problem with the cloud-save functionality of windows store games.

I have the Gamepass Ultimate subscription and wanted to play Octopath Traveler. It works on my xbox without a problem. But when switching over to my PC I can't sync the savegames. When I start the game, it shows directly that the data cannot be synced with the cloud. I can hit the retry button over and over but it is always the same message.

I tried it with other games, too, where I already have savegames in the cloud. But syncing the saves does not work there, too.

I even reinstalled Windows 10 (completely without reusing the old profile and with newest updates) but the problem still occures.

The only thing I found so far is a warning (Event-ID 10016) in the system event log, every time I click on the retry button:

Edit:

- temporary deactivating the firewall did not make a difference

- deactivating IPv6 and only allow IPv4 did not change anything

It also seems that I'm not alone with this problem, e.g. this thread is in the flight simulator forum with the same problem

Seems like Gaming service update 2.51.29001.0 (released yesterday) finally fixed the problem (after one month (release of the broken version)).

I am also in the same situation as you. I want to play Octopath Traveler on my PC when the TV is being used, but unfortunately, I cannot.

I also cannot continue my Dragon Quest save, which worked fine before. Same applies for PSO2.

I hope this is fixed for this weekend, so I can actually play and not have to look for a fix everywhere.

Reinstalling the Gameng Services app via

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

does not help.

Removing the consent via https://account.live.com/consent/Manage and reinstall the app does also not help.

Please ms support, get this fixed. It is really sad I can't play any "older" pc-gamepass titles because cloud sync does not work and would overwrite my savegames as soon as it works again.

Do you have Cloud Storage enabled?

Does your Cloud Storage show any games that aren't in sync?

Either manually sync your Cloud saves (you'll have to insert the game disc for each title which has out of sync saves), or log out of Live, install, then log back in.

unfortunately once deleted local saves can't be recovered and cloud saves are synced to the latest time.
