Cant stream wirelessly only with ethernet cable connected

Okay i have an xbox 360 elite 120GB that i have been using for over a year now, streaming movies etc. Recently i got a new router from talktalk and changed ISP but now when i go to system video player and try to stream from my laptop, it simply says the
connection is not available but when i connect my laptop to my router via ethernet cable, it works fine.

I should also say that my xbox is connected to my router/hub via ethernet cable, although my laptop is not.

I know this will be a simple fix but it's really getting to me spending hours trying to figure out the problem.

Are you connected wirelessly? If so, try doing the download with an ethernet cable attached.

 

Have you tried switching the ethernet cable around so that it is in the Laptop and not in the Xbox 360

If so and you try to connect wirelessly to your router on xbox, try this:

I haven't tried to plug the ethernet cable into the laptop because my xbox doesn't have a wireless network adapter, i'm using the xbox 360 elite.

 

M0nsterSkillz, can You post Your router manufacturer and model?

 

I can when i get home but it has worked in the past with no problems.

 

Or do you mean the manufacturer of my router ? It's a talktalk huawei HG633, works fine when i connect an ethernet conencted to my router and laptop then an ethernet coming from my xbox into my router. Seems something on my PC is blocking it, but i have
tried everything to fix the problem.

 

M0nsterSkillz, ok, I can't find any normal documentation for Your router, so I'm using screenshots from google.

Can You check some settings if I'm ask in Your router? If Your answer is yes, please check this:

1. Basic > WLAN > WLAN

1.1 AP isolation, must be not checked

1.2 WMM, must be checked

2. Basic > WLAN > WLAN Filtering

2.1 All WLAN Filtering must be disabled

Windows Media Player use UPnP AV protocol to stream Your media to Xbox 360. UPnP AV use SSDP protocol for Discovering of Media Servers. SSDP use UDP protocol as transport and IP multicast as method to send packets across network. So, Huawei HG533 can't or
don't want to Bridge IP multicast between Wi-Fi and Ethernet and vise versa.

What this all mean, we need to find where in settings this can be allowed, if this can't be done, You will need to create a ticket for TalkTalk support, with such question: How to configure IP Multicast Bridging between Wi-Fi and Ethernet interfaces in local
network.

But first, let's try to find this option in router settings. I can't find any documentation about this for Your router. So I need Your help, I need from Your some screenshots of router settings. Passwords, SSIDs and all other setting You can delete for it,
all I need is to see what can be configured on that page.

For example I can't find in internet screenshot of WLAN Filtering page, but it can contain setting about IP Multicast filtering. So please take a screenshot of WLAN Filtering page.

 

I so very much appreciate your time in trying to help me fix the problem however i don't really know what i doing in regards to confirguring networks. I do have teamviewer if you would like to add me on xbox 360, i will send you the info to come over to
my computer and check some settings if that would make it easier as you really sound like you know your stuff.
