Can't sign into Xbox one profile using Microsoft account

I'm sorry she's experiencing this problem. I understand how important recovering her account is to her.

When did she last successfully sign in to her Microsoft account?

If she has not logged into her account for more than two years and it has been closed due to inactivity, she will not be able to use the Account Recovery Form to recover her account.

Did she have two-factor authentication (2FA) active on the account? If she does have the 2FA active, is she able to access the second factor of authentication?

If so, she should try resetting her password. Detailed steps on resetting her password can be found in the following support article:

Important: The account recovery form can only be used if two-step verification isn't turned on.

Microsoft takes account security very seriously, that's why Account Recovery is an automated process with no human influence. If she doesn't have the correct information, she may not be able to get through account verification using the Recovery Form.

The Account Recovery Form requires adequate information to prove that she is the owner of the account. The Account Recovery Process can be a time-consuming process, but providing as much info as possible from the start of the process will increase the possibility of being verified by the automated process. She'll need to keep trying until she's verified by Microsoft.

Remember to use a familiar device from which she's frequently accessed her Microsoft account, as well as a familiar location. Microsoft will review her responses and respond within 24 hours. If she is verified, instructions on how to log back into her account will be sent to her, and if she is not verified, she will need to submit the Account Recovery form again. She can do this up to 2 times every 24 hours.

It's important to note that Microsoft Support will not be able to grant her access to her account, she will be sent back to the Account Recovery pages that have been linked above.

Hi there,

you can't really moved an Xbox Live Account to another Microsoft Account.

The only thing you can do is change the primary email address used to sign in to a Microsoft Account.

Hello T.i.k.i.B8r, unfortunately it is not possible to remove an Xbox profile from a Microsoft account they are one thing only.

When you create a Microsoft @outlook.com account for example, it doesn't have a gamertag or Xbox profile, but from the moment you sign in to an Xbox console or sign in to the Xbox website, it creates the profile, and once you advance your profile, you can't delete it.

The Xbox 360 account and Xbox One account are not necessarily the same.

On the computer, the game uses the Xbox profile that is signed into the Xbox app, but it can cause issues if the account that is signed into the Microsoft store is different than the one signed into the Xbox app.

So, please check if your Microsoft store account and the Xbox app account are the same and they are your main account. If possible, sign out of both apps, then sign in again.
