Can't sign into Xbox (beta) or Xbox Console Companion apps on Windows 10

I've been trying to get the Xbox (beta) app to work on my PC for months. Here's what happens. When I try to sign in, it goes through all of the sign-in steps, reloads the page, and then...I'm not logged in.

I've searched a bunch online and found that this can be due to a specific error on the OTHER Xbox app (0x409 0x80131509). And indeed, I do have that error.

I have tried just about everything. Reinstalling the apps, making sure the XBox services are enabled in Services, installing the Xbox Identity Installer app, putting all of those fancy commands into PowerShell and the Command Prompt, updating my device...
nothing has worked.

I know it's not a problem with my Xbox Live account because I made a backup Microsoft account on my Windows 10 PC and it let me login there. Naturally I would like to be able to log in with my actual Windows account, but for some reason I can't.

My Microsoft account is the same email address as my Xbox Live account. Everything else works completely fine--Office, the Windows Store, etc. It is ONLY the Xbox apps that have an issue.

Has anyone found any other solutions? I've been paying for GamePass Ultimate for months and have only gotten to take advantage of the Console half. I'm at my wits end.

What platform are you on? Is this Windows 10 or mobile version of Solitaire Collection? Have you been able to play before and this is a new development, or is this your first time trying to play?

Additionally, if this is Windows 10, are you signed into the Xbox (Beta) or Xbox Console Companion App?

Do you have the Xbox beta app for PC and not Xbox Console Companion? That is the only way to use Game Pass on PC. I believe you'll have to update Windows 10 in order to get the beta app.

Xbox Console Companion Appand
Xbox Beta App require Windows 10 as an operating system to operate properly. In order to connect the two, you must upgrade to Windows 10.

Xbox Console Companion is not required for games on Windows 10. There is currently a new app for games, the Xbox app (beta). Check out the Microsoft Store.

Also could you describe what problems you are having with the app?
