Can't sign into Xbox App, 0x80070520

Hello, for about a month I've been completely unable to login to the XBox Service on my Windows 10 PC. I've tried every fix I could find online, nothing works. So, I attempt to login to the XBox App, normally, when I start it up, it loads a few seconds,
then it immediately pops up with "We couldn't sign you into XBox Live. Please try again later." I've been "trying again later" for about a month now. If I choose to sign in with a different account and enter my account details, it'll go as far as the screen
with your icon and the "Let's Play" button, but as soon as I hit said button, I get the error again. This is really starting to piss me off, because I'm completely unable to access items I've purchased in a game, nor play with friends. I also attempted calling
support, but they were no help. I'm starting to get pissed off with this, and would really appreciate some help.

Addendum: If I try to use a different microsoft account to sign in, it kicks me back to the error page and won't even acknowledge that I attempted to sign in with it.

Upon clicking "Let's Play", it loads for a few seconds, then... Screenshot immediately sends me back to the error screen.

I have attempted switching to a local app, reinstalling all the Windows Store apps, ect, ect, and nothing works.

I can't log into my xbox app which means i can't play my windows 10 games online, i recieve the error code 0x80070520 and if searched on xbox support it says there are no results.

I can sign in with another account so the app might be fine, i can't get it to work and have already tried all the common powershell ideas and resetting the app.

please someone help so i can play games again

it also will not let you connect to any apps, use code,etc, keeps telling you to restart console, BROKEN!!!

and i hate it !!! spend 100€ to Microsoft for Forza 7 and cant play ... every time these Issues

I am having same issue. I can even log in with second account just not the main account.

 

Same error... but when I sign in with another account I can use it, and my account works on other PC, so it's problem of this PC...

 

I got the same problem.

Steps that should help:

- uninstall XBox-App by PowerShell Command

- create offline-Account

- restart PC with offline-account and install XBox-App

- Login with offline-account

- wait for login confirmation

- restart PC and login with original (online) account

For me the uninstall and reinstall works, but the problem persists.

As soon as I try to login with the online account - Error Code 0x80070520.

Which is a great error code, since not even Microsoft seems to know what it means

 

OK, I solved the problem.

Steps are as followed:

1.) Create secondary account

2.) Assign Admin rights to second account

3.) this one is not mandatory but will safe a lot of time: Make copies of your personal files, installed programs and all other data assigned to your primary account. Basically copy your documents/pictures/music folders to an external SSD or something like
that. Do NOT leave them on your computer.

4.) Login with second account

5.) delete primary account (yes, this will kill all files and programs associated with that account, thus step 3.)

6.) sign off, login with "new" account - the one you just deleted...

7.) have fun moving all the files back into the folders they belong, setting up your desktop as it was before, reinstalling all programs and the likes...

8.) try to login with your "new" account - this should work, it did for me. And after that I had to reinstall Chrome, Teamspeak, Discord, Sea of Thieves... hours of fun :/

 

This could be caused by many problems. Firstly, do you have a VPN? If so, disable it, and try again. If not, that is irrelevant. Second, do you have a proxy? If so, run command prompt as admin and type "netsh winhttp reset proxy" without the quotes. If not,
that is irrelevant. Thirdly, do you have one drive currently 'active'? If so, disable it, and try again. If not, that is irrelevant. There are many other potential causes, but let me know how/if these work for you.
