Cant Sign into Xbox 360 and cant create app password

Hello,

I heard that they are doing a big sale on the Xbox 360 online store before it gets shut down in July and I wanted to purchase games before it it too late. The problem is that I was signed out of my Xbox account and using my Xbox email and password gives me this error "That email and password didn't work" Code: 8015D002. I looked into this issue and it seems I need an app password to sign in to Xbox 360 but I don't have one and don't know how to create one. I have already checked the Xbox website and the information on there is out of date and no longer works and when I click add app password it says something about downloading the phone app and redirects me back to my Microsoft profile. I downloaded the Microsoft authenticator app on my android 12 phone but I don't know how to create an app password there either. Any help or walkthroughs would be very helpful and would also help many others who have the same issue as me.

I'm sorry you are experiencing issues signing in to your account.

I understand you'd like to create an App Password, would you mind giving this a try?

- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/security
- Sign in to your Microsoft Account
- Select "Manage how I sign in"
- Enable "Two-step verification" so the option to create an App Password becomes available.
- Refresh the Security page.
- Scroll down to "App passwords"
- Select "Create a new app password" and follow the prompts.

While on the account security page, I'd also suggest making sure your security information is both correct and up to date.

Well i use the email and password that i used to create the profile but i still cant sign in to it

because all 360 games use the old 360 systems, you need to create an app password in your microsoft account so that you can then sign in to the 360 subsystem.

you need this to sign into a 360 console or sign into a 360 profile to use 360 games on xbox one or series consoles.

Since you changed your Gamertag, you will HAVE TO sign out and back in to a Xbox 360 backwards compatible game.

If you have a very long password, you will need to create a so called App Password to use on the Xbox 360.

You can create an app password at
https://account.live.com/Proofs/Manage. Sign in with your regular account email and long password, and if not already done so, enable Two Step Verification to make your account basically un-stealable. After you turned on Two Step Verification, a bit further
down is the section to create an app password.

Use that password instead of your regular password to sign into the Xbox 360.
