Can't sign into a game?

Same issue here, I got an update a few days back (that was about 300mb) but it still says you are not signed in and you must be to continue.... :-(

1170000 - Xbox Live couldn't sign you in. Usually this means that there's a current Xbox Live outage, or a Windows Update that didn't install. First check the following website to see if there's a known Xbox Live outage:

If there's no known outage, try the following:

1. Check to make sure you're connected to the internet.
2. Check to see if Xbox Live services are down. This handy website shows the status:
   http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status
3. If they are all up, go to
   http://www.xbox.com and sign in with the same account you sign in to on your computer/tablet.
4. If everything is okay there, try restarting your computer/tablet with the "restart" option on the power/shutdown menu. Just clicking the off button or turning off your computer/tablet won't work. It needs to be restarted.
5. If you still can't connect, try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter. We have detailed instructions here if you scroll down, but you can get it here:

6. Check For Updates & install any mandatory, recommended, or optional updates you might have missed. We have detailed instructions further down this note.
7. Restart your computer - all those updates need to finish & you need to restart to make sure they all went through.

If you have problems signing in to your in-game account when you try to play with others online, there may be a problem with your account or the service you’re trying to sign in to. Here are some solutions to try so you can sign in.

Solution 1: Check your network connectivity:

You may not be able to use your in-game account if you lost connectivity while signing in to your game. To check whether you're still connected:

1. Select the Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen.
   
2. Select Settings, and then select Network & Internet.
   
3. Under Status, see if your network is connected.
   
4. If your network isn’t connected or if you're having connectivity problems, select Network and Sharing Center > Troubleshoot problems, and then follow the instructions.
   

Solution 2: Check the Xbox status

Check the Xbox status. If you see any alerts, wait until the service is up and running and then try again.

Solution 3: Check the game publisher site

The sign-in problem may be related to the game publisher sign-in service for the game, so you’ll need to check the status of that service. Here’s how to get the game publisher’s info to check their sign-in service status for the game:

1. Select the Microsoft Store icon on the taskbar on your device.
   
2. Select the game you want from the list, and then scroll down to the Additional Information section of the game page. You’ll see the game publisher info listed under Published by and Developed by.
   
3. Go to the game publisher’s website and see if there are any sign-in issues with the game.
   

Core Services including signing in are down. Can't game if you can't sign in or the game can't log in to sync save data or game data.
