Can't sign in

I have bought an xbox one, have had a 360 and gold live for years, have set it up no problem, network ok etc but I can't sign in!

Everytime I go to home page it asks 'who are you' I go through all the steps as if its new account then get to 'what email do you want' and it stops there.

How do I get it to see my Microsoft account and my profile etc from my 360

I have been trying all sorts for over 5 hours and getting nowhere.....help please

I believe the problem is that since you signed up on a PC, trying to sign up again on your Xbox fails because your trying to sign up using the same e-mail you already are using. Try "Recovering your Gamertag" to your console using your e-mail address and
password and see if that works. Included below is a link about how to "Recover your Gamertag."

It sounds like you're trying to create a new account on the console. You should just choose the Sign In option and enter your current email and password for your gamertag. The profile will download automatically for you.

 

Thanks for replying. I cant use the sign in option because every time I press it it takes me to the new account bit saying 'who are you' .

 

Sorry to hear that you have been having problems signing in. If the problems still continue, please try these steps:

Reboot your console:

1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

2. Select Settings.

3. Select Restart console.

4. Select Yes on the confirmation prompt.

5. Try to sign in again.

If that doesn't work, then try this:

Step 1: Remove your account from the console

1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

2. Select Settings.

3. Select All Settings.

4. Under Account, select Remove accounts.

5. Select your account, and then confirm removal.

Note You may need to repeat the account removal process up to five times to clear the account from the list.

Step 2: Reboot your Xbox One console as noted above.

Step 3: Re-add your account to the console

1. Scroll left from Home to open the guide.

2. Select Sign in.

3. Select Add & manage.

4. Select Add new.

5. Enter your Microsoft account email address and password.

6. Complete the personalization settings on the next several screens.
