Can't sign in to Xbox using my Microsoft account details

Xbox requires me to enter the email address and password of my Microsoft account so the security of my profile can be checked. However, the login details (which are correct) aren't accepted. Every suggestion that Microsoft's website offers has failed, and there is some kind of problem requesting a phone call. Any ideas please?

May I know what error code are you getting once you use your credentials?
And may I know if you tried procedures to fix this?

Thank you, both, for your replies. The problem has now been resolved. I'm not sure exactly what has changed but I can log in now.

Thanks for your reply. The message says "That email and password didn't work" and the error code is 8015D002.

I've tried creating an app password but that didn't work either.
