Can't sign in to Xbox account

Whenever i try to sign into my xbox account on my Xbox one i get the the code 0x87DD0006

I have tried checking the servers and the basic xbox services servers are fine and i have done the hold the xbox button down for 10 secs to do a hard restart and it still doesn't work.

Can't sign in to account

I have recently found that I am not able to sign in to my xbox one account unless I use a controller that is connected to an account. My kids and I have separate accounts. I am able to get into my account if I use my controller. However when my son tries
to sign in using his controller, which isn't linked to his account, the screen simply goes greyed out but no options to sign in. You are still able to navigate through apps and screens but no sign in option.

Any thought on how to fix it so he can sign into his account?

I went there and did the things it said to do before i posted.

 

They are working on their servers just wait!!

Currently there is an active Service Alert which is consistent with most errors occurring in the involvement of digital items.

The website allows us to notify you when the services are back up through the notify me selection in the green bar.

Our suggestions are to follow basic troubleshooting procedures as our engineers release a patch throughout each region for all users.

This process takes time, what is advised is to follow variants of Restarting the Console as in some cases the console may only
need a fresh start.

Wrll then they should change the status on the core servers to having problems too. I can't even bsign into my accounts let alone play anything. If the core services are fine then i should atleat be able to sign in.

 

Is signing in to my account a digital item? The core services server shows being fine but i can't sign into my accounts at all.

Restarting the Console.
