cant sign in on xbox one x

Come on microsoft in this day and age we shouldnt be having problems signing in,but can i ask why do we have to sign in when i dont play online.i allways play offline so i think you need to change it so we dont have to sign in if we play offline. Not asking
for too much and if problems keep arrising i might have to think about sticking with playstation and getting rid of xbox one and live and saving my self money and frustration.

Been trying to get on xbox live and cant, My xbox connects to the network and to the internet on test connection but i cant sign in to x box live, checked my service and i still have it.

Same error code on my Xbox One X, when trying to sign in (0x800488FC); however, my Xbox One signs in just fine.

Xbox Service Alert out regarding signing into Xbox Live on the Xbox One platform. You may need to wait a while before you can sign into your profile. If you'd like notification about when the alert is over and Xbox Live services are back up and running,
feel free to click the hyperlink above and navigate to that page. There is an option for requesting a one-time text notification to let you know when it expires.
