Cant sign in on backwards compatibility

I'm trying to play borderlands and its asking me to download my profile its saying test network connection and when i do it says successful then i go back to the game and it asks me to test connection again?

Is anyone else experiencing problems signing in?

You can actually sign in on this web site and send your feedback for Backwards Compatibility feature on Xbox One. You can request a game to be added and to be played using the new-gen console:

Backwards compatible games not saving/unable to sign in to XBL

I changed my gamertag a while ago, and when i went to play gta 4 through backward compatibility it asked my to sign in and displayed my old gamertag. I went to sign in and it didnt let me. After i try to sign in it says "sorry, this profile cant connect
to xbox live on this console. To fix this, download it again" and i cant download my account as its already there. This has happened with every backwards compatibile game i own and i cant make any saves. Any help is appreciated.

Sorry to hear about the issue! To clarify, is this with any backward compatible game, or does this only occur with specific games?

If it's a specific game, try uninstalling and reinstalling that game to see if the issue persists.

If this issue occurs with any back compat Xbox 360 game, let's start by removing your Xbox Live profile from your Xbox One console by following the steps on

this guide. Once the profile has been removed, power cycle your Xbox One console by holding the power button for 10 seconds, and then boot up and sign back in.

If the issue persists after trying the steps in the above two scenarios, you may need to factory restore your Xbox One console. Luckily you can now do this without losing you games and apps. To do this, visit 'System settings' from the settings menu, select
'Console info & updates', then select 'Reset console'. Be sure to select 'Reset and keep my games & apps'.

I have tried a few of the suggested answers and they only work temporarily for myself currently. I've taken to having to unplug my ethernet cable and connect wirelessly each time I want to play Halo Wars over xbox live. I reset console, entered internet
settings manually, and as mentioned previously, switching from wired to wireless connection.
