Can't Sign In - A problem occured while signing in. Please try again. If problem persists, ...

I keep getting this message on my 360. It occured after I was signed into Xbox live, and was cleaning up files on my hard drive. As soon as I deleted two corrupt unknown game files, and a corrupt avatar file, I was kicked off of Xbox live right after I
deleted the corrupt avatar file. I restarted my system, and it gave me this error "Can't Sign In. A problem occured while signing in. Please try again. If the problem persists, visit www.xbox.com/support" even
before it showed my profiles.

So I turned off my system, and powered down my router. Restarted router and Xbox, and still get this message. I did see the alert on the Xbox support site that says Xbox live is having issues, but that still shouldn't affect me signing into my non Xbox
live profiles should it? I've powered off the router and my 360 three times.

I also tried clearing my system cache three times, and powering down my 360 in between cache clearing. It does not give me an error number. All I get is the error:

"Can't Sign In. A problem occured while signing in. Please try again. If the problem persists, visit
www.xbox.com/support"

I'd appreciate any help I can get. I guess it could be a problem with the Xbox live alert, but it doesn't make sense that I can't sign into any profile.

Xbox not loading to live or dashboard correctly?

When it can't sign in when I first turn the xbox on it says "A problem has occured while signing in. Please try again. If the problem persists, visit www.xbox.com/support."

 

Sign In Problems

Everytime i try to connect to xbox live it gives me a sign in error that says

"A problem occured while signing in. Please try again. If the problem persists, visit www.xbox.com/support"

I am also unable to sign into any profiles, live or not. Can't even access settings as the xbox guide is currently unavailable.

I did no deleting unlike the OP, I simpky turned it on like normal.

Not sure how the stated xbox live alert applies to this. I can't even play a game offline at the moment.

 

I am encountering the same problem. Not only can I not connect to live but I literally can't get onto my Xbox because it refuses to let me sign in to any account. This is ridiculous because I can't use my Xbox at all, even just to play offline.

It looks like the Xbox Live service is currently experiencing some issues that are preventing many players from signing in or using any Xbox Live services.

Please try connecting again once everything has returned to normal (hopefully 1-2 hours at most) and then let us know if you still experience any problems.

I understand there is an xbox live issue but the issue in this topic also includes non xbox live activity. How is it related? I'd love to know how it can extend so far as to make all profiles unusable

 

It let me sign into Xbox live for a fleeting moment. As soon as I started Black Ops 2 my system locked up. Restarted the system and now it's back to the same thing even on my non Live profiles.

Looks like I'll be shutting the Xbox down and messing around on the computer tonight. The Xbox live status still shows they're having issues.

I did forget one thing in my original post. The first time I turned on my 360 this evening it did an Xbox live update, and after that is when I started checking and clearing up my hard drive. I don't know if the update had anything to do with it, but I
think it's worth noting.

 

I pay good money to be able to access xbox live after working a long week. Now I get to look at messages saying I cannot access because of their problems? This is not a free service... I should be able to access for what I pay for. I think I will look
at some Playstation consoles before the holidays. This is BS. Pissssssed offfffffff

 

Lord Kam Khaos, I'm not exactly sure how it could extend to completely offline profiles. However, I have see reports of that tonight and spoke to one user who had the same issue, but said it didn't start until around the same time as this recent service
disruption, so it looks like somehow they're most likely linked.

Hopefully all of that will be resolved when the service goes back to normal!

BupAxBaldEagle, it might just be a coincidence that it happened around the same time. Everyone who is having their updates impacted by this interruption is saying that their downloads won't even finish, so the fact that yours actually downloaded is a good
sign.

 

That's what really made it weird to me when it affected my offline profiles too. I'm starting to think that all of these issues are linked together. Hopefully Xbox gets it resolved soon.

Same problem. Right now it's December 5th and I've been waiting an 1 an a half and still getting the error. PLEASE HELP IM REALLY BOARD!!!!!

 

BTW I live in Canada so it's still the 5th fore. Right now it's 11:05 pm so it's still the 5th.

East Coast United States. It's 11:13pm here and I still can't get any profile to load, even offline profiles. I'm giving up tonight and will try again tomorrow.
