Can't set Home Xbox

My friends both have a game and we're wanting to share to me so I can play it too. So one of them, who had never set any xbox as his home, tried to set it on mine, and it just says it can't make this his home xbox, and that he can only set three a year.
No error code just that. So the other friend tries it, who currently has another as his home but set that like, almost a year ago and that's the only time he's set it, and his won't let him either. Why is my Xbox not able to be set as a Home Xbox?

Can't set home xbox

In December I upgraded from my day one Xbox One to the S, tried to set it as my home Xbox and haven't been able to do so... I haven't been able to set my home Xbox since I left the preview program in early 2015. And haven't set my home Xbox anywhere else.
Please help!

Can't set home xbox

I can not set my Xbox as my profiles home xbox and I have 4 changes left. It keeps saying can't save changes

If you want that counter reset then you will have to contact support directly as they are the only ones that can do it. Keep in mind since there is a 3 change per year limit they are not obligated to do it but definitely worth a try.

you have 5 change in a year starting the first time you set you're home console if you used all you need to wait finish the year or try contact support.

Like previously stated, it could be a network issue. Try on a different connection, maybe? Also, additionally, you can only change your Home Xbox five times a year. However, if you contact support and give a valid reason, you can have it reset. I think
they'll do it for someone once a year or so.
