Can't send messages through the Xbox app

I would load up the app, click on messages and the app would just be stuck loading. It never loads up, and when I try to click on friends list after tapping messages my phone would freeze up. It only happens on one of my accounts, the others work just fine
on the app.

Have you already tried send messages through the Xbox app or the Xbox web page?

Hey there Saved Patriot.

What type of mobile device are you using with the Xbox App? If you haven't already, please try uninstalling the app, power cycling your device, and re-installing the app to see if there's any change.

Also, out of the 3 Xbox accounts that I have, this is the only account that can't message on the Xbox App. I tested the other 2 accounts on the same device and the messaging works just fine.

Thanks for your patience! It's an odd work around, but can you head over to this
SMS/Text challenge and verify your phone number on the account? After you give that a go, sign out of the Xbox App, uninstall, re-install, and then sign back in and give it another try. Let us know if it helps

 

I just tried this, but it did not work for me. Same spiking loading icon and frozen app. I can send messages from a gamer's profile page, but cannot access the messages tab.

To check, do you have 2-step verification enabled on your account? If not, can you try enabling that and generating an app-specific password to sign into the app with to see if there's any change?

 

The ios app will not accept an app-specific password, apparently.

 

@Mister Maka,

I already have two-step on, and the app password won't work with the Xbox app.

 

I'm having to use the 360 smart glass as an alternative, even though I don't have a 360.
