Cant send messages, receive messages or join parties...

hoping for some help as we are lost on this, my dads account on the same console works with no issue.

I can play online says all connections are fine but when sending messages, beacons don't appear when I send party invites the beacon comes up but nothing is sent! I have downloaded my profile again, cleared cache and checked connections....

All help/suggestions gratefully received!

It is possible that you have received a communications suspension. This is what it sounds like anyway. You can post in this forum:

forums.xbox.com/.../41.aspx to see if you have indeed been com banned and why. If this is not the case, please post again and we can go from there.

 

oh that sucks!! why would I have been banned? I only play with school friends and do nothing to upset them :-(

 

Communication suspensions usually happen when you are reported for things like swearing or if you send messages that are offensive. Usually you will receive an email explaining the suspension. These suspensions are normally temporary. It might not even be
what is happening, I just suspect this because of what you have explained is happening. You may find that we need to go farther to figure this out, but posting in the forum I linked is a good first step.

I have send post to where you suggested, haven't received any emails or info hence the lost/confused feeling

I have just read that people were having issues mon/tues so hoping its maybe that and will be solved but cant find any Microsoft info on that...! thank u for your suggestions its nice to know there are helpful people out there

 

If you want, try sending me a message. By the way you post, I do not expect this was a com ban. More then likely just some other problem. I do know there was service alert happening, maybe that was the problem.

tried to send my brother a message as well and I go through all the motions but when I press on send it just closes it all down, no beacon to say 'message sent' like it normally does..

 

Ok, one other thing I see is that the account you are posting with shows as being a Silver member, and you need to be a Gold member to send messages on LIVE. Is it possible that you need to renew your membership?

 

this isn't the account that is playing up my account is gold mem til nov it doesn't let me post on forums cos I have a child account this is mums account that we used to help set mine up do u want my account info?

 

No, I am just a gamer like you. Never give out your account info. Ambassadors do not work for microsoft, we are just members of the community that like to try to help others. I guess the best thing for now is to see if the Enforcement Team answer your message,
and if you do not have a ban in place, post again and either I or another ambassador, or Official Support will try to get this worked out for you.

If you have a child account, the parental controls may be the problem. You might need to check the parent account to see if any settings have changed that are limiting your ability to communicate as well.
