Cant seem to hear game chat though my headset on my xbox x

Same. My headset was working just fine yesterday and now i can hear the game perfectly, but now i cant hear party chat. Whenni take the cord out and put it back in i hear chat for a split second then i cant

Thank you for that. Unfortunately it hasnt worked. I still cant hear any game chat, and the chat mixer is still greyed out.

I should point out that if I plug my wired headset into my wireless controller, I can hear chat.

I've got this exact problem with my TB PX51 headset. I picked up the chat adapter today to get the chat working but now my volume is so loud feels like my head is going to explode. My headset is plugged into the optical port of my xbox. Seems my chat volumes
control my game volume and i'm not sure how to correct the issue. when i lower the volume to a listenable level I hear no chat. To hear chat, game volume is maxed and hurts to listen to. Anyone have any ideas.

In a party chat i could do everything but hear my friends. I could play with them, join their stuff and, they could hear me but i could never hear them. I never had this problem until the attacks. I finally tried to play without my headset and just with
the kinect and that has worked for me. I still cant chat through my headset but i can hear the game sound so i know its on the xbox side. Hopefully they will focus on fixing this soon.

Ever since the April update party chat does not work for me, nor game chat for that matter, I cant hear them and they cant hear me. I have 2 wired Xbox chat headsets and one wireless Turtle Beach Stealth 500 headset and they all have the same problem, except
with the Turtle Beach I can hear the game sounds just fine. My NAT is set to open and my Wife's XBOX does not have this problem and she is on the same network, her's is a original Xbox One, mine is the One S. I tested my headset's on her Xbox and they work
fine so I know it's not an issue with having 3 dead headsets. If I clear my cache on my Xbox party chat will work for 2 hours roughly and then dies again, if I want to keep playing with a party then I have to reset my Xbox cache again which is a huge pain,
especially if i'm in the middle of a group raid activity in games such as Destiny or Elder Scrolls.

I only have one profile on my Xbox so it's not an issue of the controller being assigned to the wrong profile, although I have tried logging out and logging back in to my profile and that does not work either, it shows the mic-assigned message when I sign
in and has the icon for it up on the right side of the screen. If i set the audio output to go to my TV then I can hear the others in the party but they still cant hear me, i also do not have a Connect unit so it cant be interfering.

I took the step of doing a reset (keeping games / apps) on my Xbox and the party chat worked for a couple hours and then stopped working again.

Both of my controllers are running the latest FW, and I have re-synced them with my XBOX and ran the software updater on them again even though it shows them as up to date.
