Can't see MineCraft chat

Hi
I recently joined a Minecraft Bedrock server with my friend and a few mutual friends from school, but I can only see the messages he sends in chat. All of my other friends' messages do not show up. I do not have them friended because I simply have never used Xbox before. The help page tells me to change my setting but when i click the link it tells me to click it just opens another tab, sending me to the same exact page. I cannot find any sort of settings. I tried looking on the Windows Xbox console companion (On my PC) but it only sent me to the same page. I tried clicking other links from other sources that claim to solve this problem and let me alter my settings, but it only send me back... to the same page.

Yes, I have enabled Open Chat Message and reconnected, but alas, i still only see the one person's messages.

If there's any way I can change my settings through an actual link that will send me to a settings page and not just the same exact page over and over or any other way that will allow me to see everyone else's messages on Minecraft Bedrock, please help.

Make sure you haven't accidentally muted chat. You can check or change this by opening the chat screen and checking the toggle in the upper right. Oh and if it is sending you to privacy settings then he has settings that won't let you talk to him or its your settings doing the same thing go to your privacy settings and make sure both of your settings are the same.

Yes, I was able to manage my settings, and all of those settings in the image are set to allow. The settings mentioned by the instructions are also set to everyone.

I would like to clarify when you followed the instructions were you able to manage your settings?

Just to make sure, please sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings and then validate if the setting on this screenshot is set to "allow" or "everyone".

Thank you very much. Were you able to restart your device after managing the settings? If yes, and the same issue occurs kindly refresh your settings by setting them to "block" then submit, and after that "allow" and then submit.

Have you tried to uninstall/re-install the Xbox App?

Here are steps below on how to uninstall and reinstall Xbox app:

1. Click Start, and then type Windows PowerShell on the search box.

2. Right-click, and then select Run as administrator.

3. Type the following command to uninstall Xbox app: Get-AppxPackage
*xboxapp*|
Remove-AppxPackage

4. Hit Enter.

Launch Windows Store and download Xbox App.
