Can't see files on my xbox after homegroup was removed from Windows 10

I have 2 PCs and one Xbox on my home network and I used to be able to access files on my Xbox from any of the PCs because of homegroup.

Now that homegroup was removed from Windows 10 (without warning) this simple task seems to be no longer supported by Xbox because the file explorer only access local files or files on an external hard drive connected to my Xbox.

Is there another way to access files from my network on my Xbox?

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

    Media Streaming help!!!!

Currently running a windows 10 machine with 2 internal drives. My secondary drive will be used to store all my media. I have joined my machine to the homegroup, shared all files, folders, and drives. I see the xbox one on the PC and can even play remotely.
I see the computer on my xbox one using Media Player. I cannot access my files or see the secondary drive. The only way I can access my videos or media files is if they are collected on the primary on the default folder locations. Can anyone give some insite
on what I need to setup or adjust?

    Media Files Not Found

This thread came up in a search, so I thought I would share how I managed to get the xbox one to recognize media files in a Windows 8.1 computer. You need to add/share the media libraries to the homegroup. The steps are:

Goto Control Panel -> click on 'Choose homegroup and sharing options'

Select 'Change what you're sharing with the homegroup'

Ensure Pictures, Videos, and Music have 'Shared' selected, then click next. Click finished.

Xbox one should see the media folders now--at least it did for me. I don't remember having to go through these steps with Windows 7.

Windows 8.1 not seeing XBox One

Didn't see this anywhere in anyone else responses and it just worked for me after all else failed (windows 8.1). My computer for some reason didn't have my internet connection set up as the homegroup. Made my connection the homegroup and boom works like
a charm (a lot of the other stuff said here is still required like the xbox setting stuff). Just go to the network and sharing center on your computer (rightclick the wifi icon on the right of the taskbar) and click "homegroup" (bottom-left corner of the menu).
It will tell you if you don't have your connection as the homegroup there and will also give you a one-click option to make it the homegroup.

Xbox One detecting folders but not files

unfortunately this did not work for me. And now that I deleted it, I no longer have a way to set it up as a media server again. Now that Homegroup has been removed off the new Windows 10 update.

can I get rid of updates?

What game is this for? You talk of a laptop so I assume it's on windows 10? If it's on the Xbox you can get can't get rid of a game update. Once it's been updated it's updated. If it's on Windows 10 you can probably remove it from the programs file folder.

    Solucionar error 0x80080206/Fix error 0x80080206

Create a notepad file with the following name:

    "RepairGamingServices.ps1"

inside the file paste this text (if quotes):

    "

    Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

    Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices" -recurse

    Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet" -recurse

    "

Then, to run, right-click on the file, and run as administrator. then restart windows. then you need to open the Xbox app from Windows 10 that will be warning you that you need to install an extra component for the app, accept and wait for the installation. After that, Microsoft guarantees that it will be possible to reopen and download Xbox Game Pass games on Windows 10.
