Hello MooseCrowley, by my research will not be the @xboxlivefamily.com address is unable to be changed by me because Microsoft no longer uses that email domain on their accounts (probably because the family program was discontinued).

I think back them @xboxlivefamily.com accounts need to be converted into full email/user accounts as a valid email account since it can send only and does not have an "inbox".

However, the best way to try to resolve your situation would be to contact support via chat, and when an expert attends you, ask to transfer to the advanced department, there they will be able to help you.

you would go to outlook.com and sign in with the email and password and it would bring up the emails for you.

The @xboxlivefamily.com is the Microsoft Account assigned to an account when created through the Family Plan. It is not a real email so if you change the Microsoft Account name it will require an actual email at that time.

@xboxlivefamily.com is only a temporary Microsoft Account. You can create your child an email of their own using the outlook.com email and change it to that but at this time that is the only option.

I recommend requesting a call from support. They will be able to look into the account and see your account details.

These @xboxlivefamily.com addresses can't be deleted, nor can any other email be assigned as primary. AFAIK Microsoft Support needs to get involved, and it has to get escalated.

It's a farce since they handed everyone these (currently entirely non-functional) email addresses for a few years. Now, you must fight them to change the email but keep the account.
