  3. Hey Folks:

Make sure your NAT is open.... Clips that you have recorded by the "Xbox Record That" command should be able to go to your activity feed. Also keep in mind those files are only temporary if you don't save them.

Now, if you are editing them, I believe, you need to be using Upload Studio. That is the place that will save them to the One Drive.

With that said, I have noticed that clips that are made using Upload Studio cannot be shared to the activity feed from the Game DVR. I just tested that for myself. I am able to share the normal "record that" clips but not the Upload Studio creations. (I
will be creating a new thread for that.)

  4. Can't save or share Game DVR captures?

I'm also having this problem; what's really frustrating about it is that it is hit or miss, sometimes screenshots will save and sometimes they wont. I joined Gold for the free month just so I could save and share pictures (why Microsoft doesn't let you do
at least that for free is frustrating in itself) and about 75% of the pictures that I have taken over the past month or so have saved (I renewed my Gold sub in hopes of figuring this problem out). All of my captures have been in Fallout 4, I don't think it's
game related. I have taken three videos and saved them to my OneDrive via Upload Studio and Game DVR itself, all of them have saved no problem. And it always seems like the coolest screenshots or the ones I want to use for reference are the ones that don't
    save.

As far as the 'faux' saving that mussoliniman mentioned goes, I've found that when you save in the 'Manage" section and back out of it to find the screenshots it just claimed to save without the floppy disk icon to wait a few hours and go back into the Game
DVR. They will be saved, like it takes Microsoft/Xbox One a while to actually save them.

But once you get that first notification that the screenshots you are trying to save didn't, they're pretty much useless. I have screenshots from a while ago that I'm still trying to hopelessly save as well as ones from just last night, and no matter how
many times I try to save they will not.

I wish Microsoft would fix this; it just seems like they're pushing this issue aside despite how many people are experiencing this problem.

  5. Hey, guys! I'm sorry to see any issues with saving/sharing game clips and screenshots! We've previously worked on that with Activity Feed in
this thread, and it's been since resolved.

Saving should be working. Understand that the images and clips need to be viewed and approved before they are able to be shared. This is to ensure that clips/screenshots do not violate the Code of Conduct. However, they should still be saved to your console/account.

There appears to be a couple different issues here, so I'm going to lock this thread down and ask that those that are having the following issues to please post up a new thread and then send me a private message with the link:

    • Game clips and screenshots aren't saving.
    • Cannot share edited game clips.
If you are having any other issue, please also post up a new thread so that our community can help you out. To send me a private message, you will want to click on the envelope at the bottom of my post.

This thread has a few different issues going on, and I'd like to be able to help everyone, but cannot when the issues are mixing too much to have a clear picture of what each person is running into. Thanks for understanding!

How do I unbind the share button on my xbox controller?

I'm Samy an independent advisor and I'll be helping you :D

    How are you, mate?

Sadly, so far it is not possible to disable this button but a workaround that might help you is to disable the GAME DVR.

To disable Xbox Game DVR on your Xbox One, hit the Xbox button and head to Settings. Joystick down to ‘Preferences, then select ‘Capture & share’. Toggle the first option, ‘Allow game captures’, from ‘Captures by me or games’ to ‘Don’t capture’ to disable Xbox Game DVR. Alternatively, you can toggle this option to ‘Captures by me’.

    Backup gaming clips

    Hello Kursaalflyer,

Thank you for your quick response.

It appears that the capture location for your external drive is saved to GameDVR folder and XboxCapture copies folder. When copying multiple copies it goes directly to Xbox Capture Copies folder while captures clip is directly saved to GameDVR folder.

The GameDVR folder in external storage is a folder that contains the game clips and screenshots that you have recorded using the Xbox Game DVR feature on your console. The Game DVR feature allows you to capture your gameplay moments and share them with your friends or on social media. After recording clips, your external drive can now be plugged into a PC, where the traditional video files can be extracted. This essentially turns your console into a simple capture card, allowing recordings to be locally transferred for use in PC-based editing software. All files created by Game DVR can be found under the "Game DVR" folder automatically created on your drive.

The Xbox capture copies folder in external drive is a folder that contains the copies of the game clips and screenshots that you have recorded using the Xbox Game DVR feature on your console and then transferred to your external drive. The Xbox Game DVR feature allows you to capture your gameplay moments and share them with your friends or on social media. By transferring your game captures to an external drive, you can save space on your internal drive, backup your captures, and access them on other devices.

You can edit both the files saved on the GameDVR folder and the Xbox capture copies folder using PC editing tools. The difference is that the files on the GameDVR folder are the ones that you have recorded directly to your external drive by setting it as your capture location, while the files on the Xbox capture copies folder are the ones that you have copied or moved from your internal drive to your external drive. Both folders contain the same type of files, which are MP4 video files for game clips and PNG image files for screenshots.

We look forward to your response. Kindly let us know, if there is any misunderstanding or clarifications of our description by sending us a reply.

Unable to save or share screenshots and clips!

M3tal Daz3, Yeah, like I said it will make clips and take screenshots, I just can't SAVE any of them. Going into Game DVR I can either select one and get this message:

    "Capture not saved

Sorry, the capture you selected was not saved. Please try again."

Or all of them and get this slightly different one:

    "No captures saved

Sorry, none of your selected captures were saved. Please try again."

And no other info is provided as to why. No error code. And after awhile, unsaved screens/clips get deleted automatically. :(

Game DVR: Unable to save content to console

Just tried on a separate account. I created a 22 second clip and then opened game DVR. Got the same error message on the other account:

    "Capture Not Saved

Sorry, the capture you selected was not saved. Please try again."

Game DVR always saves on C: even if i move the folder

    Hi,

To see where your captures are saved, open the Xbox App, select Settings, and then select Game DVR. Under Saving captures, select Open folder to see your captures in File Explorer.

By default, game clips and screenshots are saved in your Videos folder, in a folder named
Captures. This can be moved to different places on your PC, including elsewhere on your hard drive or to external drives. Your Windows 10 PC saves the default storage to where the Captures folder is created.
