Can't save or share Game DVR captures?

When I open Game DVR, I can see the screenshots or clips I've recorded, and when I press the menu button on them, I only have options to delete/edit/set as background, not to share or upload to One Drive.

If I go to 'Manage' and try to save any capture, it tells me "Sorry, none of your selected captures were saved. Please try again."

Strangely, my housemate (who has an account on the same console), isn't receiving this error or any similar issue.

Troubleshooting:

I've power-cycled the console (holding power button and then unplugging it from the wall)

I've checked the network connection, and it's working fine.

The privacy settings haven't been touched, but I checked them anyway

I've cleared persistent storage after a chat with a support rep this morning.

I've waited (48hrs+) before I tried saving/sharing any capture.

I even just bought myself a month of Gold (even though there's already a Gold account in the household, on the same console) and nothing is working.

tl;dr: I can't share/save captures even though I can record clips and screenshots from within a game just fine, and troubleshooting isn't leading me to a fix. Is there a fix? Any ideas?

The Game DVR won't allow me to save or share anything thing from QB. Anyone else?

If you are trying to save to the OneDrive in order to upload to Youtube then you seem to be having the same issue a lot of people are having right now. I do believe that it is being worked on.

In the meantime you can do a workaround. When saving the files don't upload to the OneDrive. Simply save it. When it is saved you can head over to the Youtube app and upload the files from there.

 

I have the same problem. I can't save any captures whether they're clips or screenshots. Since I've been using Game DVR, I could only save pictures and clips within a day of capture, but recently I can't save at all.

I've checked my settings to make sure they're all correct, unchecked them, unplugged my console then turned it back on, and rechecked them.

I power cycled my console as well

Tried to capture on multiple games to see if it's game related

Cleared all other captures (a lot was deleted)

removed my account and re added it

I even did a factory reset, but nothing's working.

I have a 1tb Halo 5 xbox, so maybe that's the problem.

I've also been using a free trial of xbox gold if that's helpful, but with the free trial, it was working for a time. I even used a new trial in case the previous one expired and still nothing.

My xbox also notified me of game save data not matching up with what's on cloud and having to sync for every game. That was when the problem started. Could that be the cause?

 

Update: After the factory reset, it seemed to not have been working. After reinstalling a game (Witcher 3) and going to it's game hub and viewing captures there, II was able to save most of my own

Say if I take 5 pictures, select them all and save, only 4 will actually save. This isn't always the case, so it's kind of hit or miss.

Re-update: Also, it faux saves (tells you the captures were saved, shows the floppy disk icon, but isn't actually saved). Backing out of the manage feature reveals the games to not have been saved. Sometimes backing out and then entering back into Game DVR
again can show them as saved again, and they actually will be saved. Again, it's hit or miss sometimes with this. I really don't know what's going on.

 

I'm running into this issue as well. This is with Fallout 4. Have a nice collection of quirky screenshots, but they give me the same ambiguous error when trying to save them. They never show up on my SmartGlass.

 

I am running into this issue as well and have found no satisfactory solution. I have a 1TB console (Fallout 4 bundle, not PipBoy Edition), only a month or so old, have checked, rechecked, re-rechecked my privacy settings and Game DVR allowances, network
connection is peachy (though I can't synch the PipBoy app (both are connected to the same Wifi)), do not have a gold account, have been on Xbox LIVE with a silver account for nearly a decade, have downloaded Upload Studio and OneDrive only to find them unhelpful
(I only have screenshots; no clips), and have followed the extraordinarily useful advice the error message gives me ("Please try again."). I have tried saving them individually, en masse, a few at a time, yet receive the same enigmatic message. Meanwhile,
my hilarious screencaps are slowly expiring and I am at a loss.

I hope someone riddles this out soon, or better yet, Microsoft releases a software patch; I spent too much money on this only to not be allowed use of all its functions.

 

I'm having this issue too. I took about a dozen and a half Assassin's Creed Syndicate screenshots. The last six I took, I could save and share, but the first dozen or so, no matter what I do will not save. It's definitely not a space issue, I have tons of
hard drive space, and deleted the six that did save properly once I'd picked them up, and even deleted a video or two I had lying around, and still wasn't able to save even a single additional image. Where is the dev response on this?

 

Ok, so... After some searching on the 'net, I've heard it's a matter of Gold or not for most people, but that's not 100% correct, as I've had Gold for 6+ years solid... Now, I don't save screenshots and clips, I just don't, but today I decided 'hey, Ark
solo and I got a Spinosaurus! Let's screenshot and share the pretty!' And, yeah, no options for sharing. Heck, it won't even let me save it. Just that annoying 'Capture not saved; Sorry, the capture you selected was not saved. Please try again.' Over and over.
My console is a Day One edition, so it's not exactly the newest, but it's really annoying the heck out of me... Is there any word on a for sure fix on this??? ((I've tried the full shut down/reset and everything, no change there...))

 

Apparently its a pointless option that's my experience. Competitor allows to save screenshots to usb device, extremely simple and works 100%

 

The screenshot option is as useful as thumb tack filled slippers.

 

As i can understand so far......there is NO solution to the problem which i also have. So, what do we do ? Is there something easy we can do to overcome the barrier of unsaved captures? The Upload studio is not very helpful 'cause it's only adds clips and
no screenshots. Basically i want to post/share to Facebook. I understand that there is no direct action for this, right? Any suggestion is a good suggestion!

I have the same issue when i go to the upload studio to edit and save my videos or screenshots it wont let me save or add titles to my video or upload them.

 

The xbox does not save captures taken while you didn't have Xbox Live Gold. I recently found this out, and I'm really annoyed. Even after buying a Gold subscription, it will not let you share or save those captures, which is frankly very annoying. The worst
part is, it won't even let you go into your images on the storage folder, because Microsoft (for some reason) won't let you see your files inside the xbox. It's really annoying, and I really like the xbox, but this feature is a real let down, especially since
you need to pay for it to become effective.

 

Having the same exact issue I can't save anything and it won't show up in app, come somebody for the love of cheese and rice give us an answer to what is going on. Tell that ya'll working on a correction or something. Leave people in the dark is just bad
customer service.
