Can't Save on Xbox one, When is the patch coming out?

then i will not start that quest until the patch fixes it. what i do not understand is how these two save bugs got passes game testing. i find it hard to believe no one got these two save bugs when play testing the game.

The thing about the Mystery of the Byways quest is you can "start it" just by walking into the small village near the "Byways" fast travel sign in Vellen. The Byways fast travel sign is in a spot people would naturally encounter. Then again, I don't know
if walking into the village is enough to trigger the bug or if you have to kill the ghouls and talk to the villagers. From what I've heard the Mystery of the Byways quest bug only affects a relatively small percentage of players, so I'm guessing you need
to kill the ghouls to trigger the bug. But I would play it safe and not go anywhere near the Byways village.

Just to add my '2 cents' - i had the byways quest in my log and inadvertently rode through the village triggering a quest update. I was still able to save/load after that point.

I hadn't tried doing the quest as i would have died - quickly!

It sounds like the Mystery of the Byways quest doesn't affect everybody. But, to add another two cents, the Mystery of the Byways bug, if you do get it, doesn't manifest any problems at all at first. I "started" the quest and didn't finish it for about
10-15 hours before suddenly my save games didn't work anymore (I could "save" but the save games wouldn't load). Before that, everything seemed fine (and, in a sense, was fine). It wouldn't have occurred to me to think my problem with loading saved games
had anything to do with the Mystery of the Byways quest had I not read about the bug on the Witcher 3 forum.

Of course, if you are level five or something, you shouldn't tangle with a level 22 vampire. So wait and see if you have any problems loading your games in the future. If you do, this might be why. Hopefully a patch will come along that fixes the darn
thing, but note that the PS4 users, who have version 1.04, still have this bug. (We only have version 1.03; not sure if next patch will bring us to 1.04 or if we'll jump to 1.05.)

do these patch's actually work? every time i have a problem with a game and a patch is issued and i download patch, it never seems to fix the problems.

To get around this, I had to physically unplug my Xbox from the wall outlet and wait about a minute. The game loaded back to the last save point before the issue, which was a checkpoint for me so I didn't lose too much time.

Hopefully it'll help out those who haven't got the update or until the update arrives..

Update time! Quote from the community dev on the Witcher forums:

"The 1.03 patch on Xbox One will feature both, the FPS lock on 30 and will remove the save problem. We are hoping it will go live by Friday"
