    Can't save .mp4 files


    So, I've been trying to save some game clips with the Microsoft Photos app, but when I try to save my changes, it says "unable to save, please try again later." I've had this issue for a few days now, but when I had first gotten my computer I was able to edit my videos just fine with the software. I can crop other file types (non-video types, like .jpg) but it just won't work with .mp4. I've tried turning off the read-only switch in properties, but it's made no difference. I've looked at other posts similar to this and tried the responses there, but there was no change.

    Xbox DVR recording corrupt files

    I forgot to include that the file type is mp4 and that the working saves are also that file type so I'm assuming that its a corrupt file.

    Where did my recording go after I forgot to stop it?

    I can't find any .mp4 files in the Temp folder. Am I looking at the wrong folder or is it a different file format?

    Can't get "Play to" feature to work...

    I had the same issue. My files were mp4 videos and I simply changed it to .wmv. Try changing the file to ".wmv" by selecting "rename" and adjusting the file type. Obviously you may want to save a copy of the file before altering it.

    Example:

    Old

    MyAwesomeVideo.mp4

    New

    MyAwesomeVideo.wmv

    just updated the Xbox 360 and can't play .mp4 files any more.

    Hi there! I will repeat the above statements and add a resource to convert mp4 files to avi files. Just click on the link as follows:

    It's the converter that I personally use and recommend...and you can't beat the low low price of free! Hope this helps!
