Can’t save backwards compatible on my Xbox one

Have you tried unistalling and reinstalling the game too see if that works?

This worked perfect once i downloaded the file. I had no idea i had to download the profile

Thank you for reaching out to Xbox forums support. If you haven't already done so, go ahead and try performing a Soft console Factory
reset on your console by doing the following:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select System.
5. Select Console info & updates.
6. Select Reset console. [KEEP MY GAMES AND APPS]

Make sure you have both your email and password on hand as you will be asked to sign back in. There is an option to delete everything and to save your games and apps; choose the latter.

Couple of things could be causing this.

1. Make sure your password is less than 16 characters the 360s including the emulator on the Ones do not like passwords longer than 16 characters. If it is Just change your password.

2. If your password is less then 16 characters you may need to redownload your profile to the emulator you can do this by following these directions.

a. Load any 360 backwards compatible game.

b. Once loaded hit the start and select buttons (small round buttons on either side of the big xbox button on the controller)

c. This will load the 360 guide and there should be a choice there to download profile. Or it should give you choice I believe to hit the Y button to sign in. Just make sure your password is not longer than 16 characters.

Hello Gamer! Backwards compatibility means the version before the current which for example if an Xbox 1 game is backwards compatible it can be played with Xbox 1 and Xbox 360. Which means a backwards compatible game for the Xbox 360 can’t be played with
an Xbox 1.
