Can't save 360 games on xb1s

    My son had a 360 for several years, and always had live gold.

    About 2yrs ago he upgraded to an xb1 and all was fine.

    Just after xmas he spilled fluid on it and it would no longer turn on, so we got him an xb1s.

    Since then he can no longer play any backwards compatible 360 games as he can't save.

    They download and install ok, but either say there is no active profile and he cannot save even though he is signed into live, or there is a 360 style popup that appears and says it cannot retrieve his 360 profile information and live might be down, and
    again won't let him save.

    All the xb1 games he has, on disc, purchased online, and games with gold all work fine as does any DLC, it's only backwards comp 360 games causing this issue.

    We still have the 360 and he can log into that using the same profile fine if we turn it on..

    He downloaded lego star wars this morning, ran it, and it says there is no active profile, press home to sign in or (A) to carry on playing without saving!! But he is signed in!!

    Xbox one cloud save?

    No, you can't play 360 games on Xbox One, the saves on the cloud for your 360 games are unaffected though

    Storage Questin

    If I delete a game using uninstall from the XB1 hard drive what happens to all the save games etc associated with it?

    On the 360 they were always still linked to the game even if you uninstalled it but having uninstalled Tomb Raider today to create some space there is no reference to the game at all on the console even though there should be a saved SP game....

    Sounds like your son isn't signed into his profile while the Xbox 360 emulator is open. To resolve this, hit the 'Menu' and 'View' button at the same time while you're in the Xbox 360 emulator and select the appropriate profile. If the issue persists, try
    clearing the local Xbox 360 storage on your Xbox One console by following these steps:

    • Press the Xbox button on your controller top open the Xbox One guide.
    • Scroll down and select 'All settings' within the guide.
    • While in the settings menu, scroll down to 'System' and select 'Storage'.
    • From here, select 'Clear local Xbox 360 storage'. This won't affect the cloud saves that are already attached to his profile.

    huh? you can't use your BL2 content and saves on the XB1. If you want to keep it then you have to keep your 360.

    Unfortunately the way 360 worked was that each game save needed to be sent to cloud saving if enabled and I believe was only allowed for up to 50megs of storage... That being said it was not like the XB1 where it automatically saves to the cloud whether
    you want it to or not, thus making playing at a friends house quite simple compared to profile downloading on 360. XB1 does not need to have a profile downloaded but more or less just simply log in on whatever XB1 console you happen to have access to and
    voila you're saves and games are present.

    As Sparkle has stated, without a 360 and the HDD containing the save files you want add to the cloud, you will not be able to recover them unless you previously stored saves on the cloud to access them via XB1.

    Profile / Saving transferation from One to 360

    If you play a back compat game on XB1, the 360 save is going to your cloud save. from the xbox 360, when selecting the save location, just select cloud storage and the file from XB1 will be there. From the storage section on the 360 you can copy that
    to local USB if you want a back-up, or remove the cloud save and upload a local save if you had a different file you wanted to use, etc.
