Cant run Sea of Thieves on a new device?

Just got a new laptop and when I try to run Sea of Thieves, I get 'Sea of Thieves is currently not available in your account. Here’s the error code, in case you need it: 0x803F8001'. I've already been playing the game for months and it still works on my old machine, but I get the error above on my new laptop. Is there anything else I can do? I've tried every fix I can find with no results...I was going to sell my old machine, but now it looks like I'll have to keep it just to play the damn game.

Sorry to hear about your technology related issues with Sea of Thieves. You mentioned you're getting error code 0x803F8001 which means that the game is having trouble checking usage rights or no longer available on Game Pass. In this case, if you're using Game Pass, Sea of Thieves is still available so it may be related to usage rights.

Have you confirmed the account you're trying to use is the same account on both computers?
When you login with that account on Xbox.com does it show the same gamertag you use to play Sea of Thieves? If not, check your account you're using, as a Microsoft account may not be the same as an Xbox account.
Have you tried the steps for troubleshooting game installations on a Windows device, including uninstalling and reinstalling the game? This link will also help you reinstall the gaming services app for Windows under the "still having problems?" section.
Have you tried a clean reinstall of your device? Here's a support article that can walk you through this if you haven't performed one yet.

Sea of thieves decided to uninstall itself for some reason over night, making it so that I cant play Sea of Thieves today due to the long download time.

If I buy Sea of Thieves on Steam, can I play with the same account as on the xbox app version? That way I wont need to deal with the Xbox app or its version of Sea of Thieves.

Have you checked your system requirements are adequate for the game to run on your device? Is this a recurring problem that you experience with other games or just with Sea of Thieves? If it is just am issue that you experience on Sea of Thieves then I would
recommend that you uninstall the software and try reinstalling it again and hopefully this should fix the issue.

In addition to my earlier post, I'd have to add Forza Horizon 4 and Sea of Thieves to the list too. Forza Horizon 4 looks better and runs better on the X, it's a noticeable leap. The same goes for Sea for Thieves too!
