Can't run game due to File Error/Microsoft Store Doesn't Recognize I Own a Game

It has to due with update not removing original files for game and so it does recognize, but when removed then reinstalled from store then they work. Not uninstall and reinstall...that did not work for me

Technically yes, you can store the games on an external drive and the console will recognize them, but they won't run without the disc since it needs to check that you have a license for the games. Since you can't use the disc on the Series S, you would need to own them digitally in order for them to work.

I have a microsoft game with a 104 error and can't play it. How do I get a new game ? The store won't let me get it because it shows I already own it.

All services are running and this error still occurs.

It appears to be affecting ALL owners of the digital deluxe version of this game. Microsoft store is not recognising that they own the digital deluxe version (and therefore both x/s and the xb one edition).

The store is only recognising they own the X/S version, and not the deluxe version. Which is why the xb one version is no longer being recognised as being owned.

It appears that Microsoft appear unaware of this issue. All we see is people being asked to do the troubleshooting, which will NOT fix this problem.

It is a Microsoft DRM issue specifically with this game. I can't find anywhere that Microsoft has even acknowledged this issue yet.

I only have one "gaming services" and it is unable to start due to the error above, which I believe stems from the original problem of my post, since I can't install gaming services through the Microsoft store.
