Cant rip CD's - need help please

I don't have an xbox but am posting thisrequest for information for my son who has no internet connection or usb stick to solve his CD ripping issue. Hope I'm in the right place? The X box inquestion is very old - not sure of the model number.

So, all games play fine but when trying to rip a cd there is a no entry sign symbol instead of loading bars and when you click rip the rip is aborted. One cd ripped fine and saved then on the next one it froze for a bit then the loading circle spun for ages
until the box was restarted. After the restart even the cd's that had ripped before wont now rip. The message is something like "remaining space saved for systems management". There is 460GB showing as available. He is saying that he cant select a new location
to save to.

Please can anyone help?

Rip cd's?

Does anyone else believe Xbox should introduce a feature to go back to the "good old days" where people could rip cds, and burn songs on to their hard drives to be played in the background while doing something else?. I remember when I use to play fifa,
(as an example) with my own songs on in the background instead of the ****** ones ea provided, and boy do I miss those days.
